I have been deployed to Southwest Asia since late December. Monday I arrived home! I had a great deployment and learned a lot about people during my time. Now i have two weeks of re-integration with Lorra and Silas. Fortunately I was able to Skype daily with them so Silas (our 1.5 YO foster baby) remembers me.

I was also selected to fill a temporary Chaplain slot at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. It will run at least through September and possibly through January. Lorra and I are very excited about it. We will be leaving in mid-July.

I have not had a chance to post much over the last couple of months but I have been following the forums. I also started a project using a new program I have fallen in love with. I have finished Romans, 1 & 2 Peter, 1 & 2 Chronicles, 1/2 Thessalonians, Colossians and some others. Basically it will allow you to select any verse and see the journal articles that discuss that verse or any range the verse falls within and then hyperlink to that article. Below is a taste of what it looks like. Yellow articles are Piper sermons. I am very excited about this project.

    Hi HH

Good to hear that you are home and that you and your family have been kept safe.

Bless you all as you spend time getting to know each other again

That looks very interesting! Back in the L3 days I was hoping that L4 would have something like this but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe they can take some inspiration from this work! :)

Welcome back Halo Hound. Noticed you were not posting, so I figured that you were on deployment.

Care to share some more details of the particular software? Looks very interesting and promising.

the software is found at www.thebrain.com. My 30 day free trial just ended. It thought the program would basically brick on me but most of the functions I am using for the project are still available. Eventually I will drop the $200 for the Pro version but its good to know it doesn't have to be today :-) It will take me a while to finish the project because I want to do the whole Bible. I have a funny feeling I'm going to crawl when I get to the Gospels. It may take me a year to finish. But when I'm done I'll probably either give the work away or give people access in some online fashion.

Congrats on the new opportunities that the Lord has opened up for you.

I was introduced to the Brain a number of yrs ago through Britannica Encyclopedia's software but never really did much with it. This past yr I have developed a renewed interest in using it to organize my work at church. Thanks for sharing your snapshots of how you are using the software.

    Blessings
