One more question about The New International Commentary on the Old and New Testament (NICOT/NICNT)

Does this series not have all of the works available to it now? I see that there is some other set of 4 or 5 commentaries meant to complete the set. Does this mean I would have to buy an incomplete set, only to have to buy another set to make up what is not there? That seems odd to me.

Searching Logos.com for upgrade => http://www.logos.com/products/search?q=upgrade finds a number of supplemental upgrade sets, including pre-publication => The New International Commentary on the Old and New Testament Upgrade (NICOT/NICNT) (4 vols.) for => The New International Commentary on the Old and New Testament (NICOT/NICNT) (40 vols.) so purchasing 44 volumes would be two purchases (no estimate when for upgrade set of 4 volumes)

I don't think so. 2 or 3 of this 'upgrade' replace works from folks such as F. F. Bruce (i.e. Hebrews). I would not expect this. In fact, I can only see one 'new' work, which is the book of Hosea. This is why I ask this question and think it is much deeper than a quick upgrade reference. I appreciate the attempt, but I do not think that this really answers the question in my humble opinion. And thank you... I will keep smiling. :-)

After looking at links, concur book of Hosea is new. Also noticed the other 3 volumes were substantially larger.

I appreciate the attempt, but I do not think that this really answers the question in my humble opinion.

By the way, my favorite commentary series is the UBS Handbooks; wiki Logos Resource Reviews has => UBS New Testament Handbook Series and => UBS Old Testament Handbook Series that includes link to => Logos 4 Blog: Quickly Access the UBS Handbooks

Currently, my second highest prioritized commentary series is => The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges (58 vols.) The 14,549 pages is smaller than the 23,832 pages in the 40 volumes of New International Commentary along with being older.

Thanks for the follow up. So, do you have any idea where I can get a synopsis of what is new and why they did that? Also, in a new complete set, do they replace or compliment the original contributors? I am curious as to this approach by the committee.
