Quick Keys for highlighting no longer working

I have assigned a number of shortcuts for various highlighting styles. Among them, for example, the letter Q for a specific format I've called "Quotable". Since the last Beta update (currently at 4.5c Beta 2 (4.53.0.2084) ) The majority of these quick keys no longer work.

I was unable to reproduce this on 4.5c Beta 2 on Windows 7. Could you provide me with specifics: screenshots and log files would be very useful? Thank you.

Sure thing!

In the picture below, note that I have selected a bit of text in Schaeffer's works. Then I pressed the "y" key and nothing happens. If I click the Yellow Highlighter however, the text does get marked up.

I then closed Logos and have enclosed the log from that session.

Not a daft question at all. But not the solution either. Alas it is not a caps-lock issue.

And given that it worked again just a moment before Logos crashed without even a procdump makes me wonder if something else is amiss.

Intriguingly.

I have two quick keys assigned to a simple color underline.

A Red underling uses D and works.

A Green underline uses N and works.

I have Q assigned to a grey highlight with a "quotebox" graphic attached to it - alas that one does not work.

Speaking of "intriguing": how were you able to set your shortcut key as a lowercase letter? I am unable to do so. Did you set the keys this beta (Beta 2, 0.2084)? Did you set them in an earlier beta, and it carried through to this one? Are you still able to set a lowercase letter as your shortcut key, and if so, how?

just for comparison sake: on my machine, currently the stable version 4.5b SR-3 (4.52.0.2208) but on 4.5b Betas before, throughout the stable and beta versions the button icons in Tools/Highlighting show uppercase letters (such as Y for yellow), but the functionality works by just hitting the keys (which would give lowercase characters, such as y, if I was typingt text in an edit field) and imo this is how it should work.

I set the quick keys when the option first came available. I haven't looked up when that was.

Now that you've pointed it out I see that it should be uppercase. This is true of several markups that I have now.

So I did some testing. While I do not know why there is a difference in assigment, there is a difference in behavior.

Several markups I have assigned to uppercase letters - these all work

two examples:

I also have several assigned to lowercase letters - none of these work.

r- Red highlighter

q - quotable

u - underlined red bars

y- yellow highlighter

Further observations

Somewhere along the line these were not converted from lower to uppercase. I have no idea when or why. That is a required bug/upgrade fix.
The disparity is making the entire markup process using quickkeys seem VERY slow - appearing at first not to work at all. I didn't realize this until I hit a markup button and went to get coffee, when I came back my boxed (B) had worked!
I fixed the problem by reassigning the desired shortcuts and restarted Logos (The restart was not necessary - it worked, but I did so just for good measure).

You are correct: this is a holdover from older versions, where lowercase keys were used / permitted. This changed to uppercase only, though the shortcuts were not automatically converted. Changing the lowercase keys to uppercase resolves the issue, as you have noted. I will pass on the suggestion regarding forced conversion to uppercase.
