I got my usual flood of Logos emails over night and was sort of curious about Morris Proctor Father’s Day Bundle

All was going well until I got postage the same price as the bundle (London, UK), I quickly closed the browser!

Just curious what would you pay in USA/Canada?

This is a really important point. There are a number of items Logos sells that I have been interested in, such as the soon to be published

Introduction to Bible Study with Logos Bible Software.

However, the shipping costs are prohibitive, and can easily cost more than the product at times. Downloads have free shipping (basically), but physical goods are generally not worth paying shipping costs for. If manuals and DVDs were available as pdfs (or Logos books) and mpgs (or Logos videos), I'd be much more interested. I suspect this is true for many outside the US, as well as some inside.

I know it has been discussed before but it is a bit bizzare that Morris has the DVDs (free shipping as far as I remember) and trains on electronic books but doesn't have the training volumes in electronic format.

I completely understand, but as we all know there are folks who would buy this, send the PDF and videos out to everyone in their church and family without a second thought about the pirating of the product. Because of these offenders, other have to unfairly suffer and some mediums just will not be in a digital format unless they can be released via some digital management avenue. I wonder if Logos would consider selling the video on iTunes (granted they lose 30% revenue), even if that means less profits? This might be a place where better management of media rights might be controlled. Of course, if someone really wants to hack the media at this point, then I don't think much would stop them.

I am sure a few folks would be surprised that such a topic would even come up. I used to manage a Christian book store years ago (before marriage and completing my 17 year extended undergraduate program... was not focused in school initially... think of the movie, "Up!" and the dog saying, "Squirrel!") and the biggest theft occurred in the Bibles section. When I was in Bible college and seminary, my ethics professor told me that historically, the most popular books stolen from the library were books on ethics.

I say all this because I am guessing they are doing this intentionally or because they have not explored a digital media distribution avenue where licensing can be tied to the buyer a bit more. I just hope they can distribute the media format within in the EU or England to alleviate your prohibitive costs. All the best and cheers!
