"The Works of
Robert S Candlish" is in Community Pricing and bids close at the end of
the week. (http://www.logos.com/product/20310/the-works-of-robert-s-candlish)
There is high praise on the page promoting his work. Spurgeon is
quoted as saying:
"A man hardly
needs anything beyond Candlish. He is devout, candid, prudent, and
forcible."
The problem is that
this is Spurgeon's shorthand for refering to Spurgeon's lectures on 1 John,
whereas the page makes it look like it is praise for Candlish, possibly
implying all his works. So does this collection of his works include his
lectures on 1 John? No. These are available from Logos as part of a
classic commentary collection (Get your bid in at http://www.logos.com/product/18618/classic-commentaries-and-studies-on-the-epistles-of-john),
but as they are not included as part of his works, it seems that the quote is
misleading.
Please could we have
more informative and less misleading marketing? It's not as bad as it
once was, but it's a shame when a great product is marred by misleading claims.
Thanks.
