What is the significance of the highlighting of portions of the vertical scrollbar in the Bible?

What is the significance of the highlighting of portions of the vertical scrollbar in the Bible? I am talking about the darker bars that showup and when you mouse over them a scripture appears. I can't figure out the connection between these and the rest of what I am looking at. Are these past searches? Cross references?

Those are wear marks (shows "wear" you've been [:D]). There are other colors that represent your Favorites and Search locations.

I have not found the gray bars to be helpful yet, but it is too soon for me to recommend they be deleted. I want to see if they are useful as time goes on.

However, it would be nice to have the option to turn them on and off.

A long time ago it was hinted that this feature is on the addition block, but I have heard nothing recently and I think its at the bottom of the list. I like the gray marks.

It's not a major issue for me either. I think there are more pressing issues for Logos to devote their time and energy. And who knows I may end up liking them too.
