BUG: Ordering of note icons

3 notes on the same verse: yellow, orange, red:

Same 3 notes in the Bible, now in the order of orange, red, yellow Huh? :

If I arrange the notes in my notefile to be read in a certain order, I would certainly prefer them showing up in that order in the Bible as well! Wink

(I switched colours for clarity, normally they're the same.)

I understand what you are saying, but the order of the notes in the note file is dependent upon how they are sorted (reference, date, title, color, or manual). It would seem that adding that functionality would slow things down quite a bit… Do you think?

Can you decipher how they are ordered inline with the text? Is the oldest first?

I'm no developer, but why would it be slower to move the note icon when the note is moved, than to change the note icon colour when it's changed in the note file?

I don't think this is really a bug per se. Perhaps a feature request is more appropriate term. Have you ever witnessed the behavior work as you desire?

In reproducing this I noticed that the most recent note file added to a citation is always the furthest to the left. I had made that in a new note file as well. If it acted the way you wanted, how would you arrange the icons in a situation where the note indicators span multiple note files?

It does appear that Logos 4 orders the note icons in the text by creation date.
