Let me start by saying that I love the ease of Logos. Except when it comes to searching through the Greek. And I'm sure there is an easy answer that I am overlooking. So hopefully I can find it here.
I'm a pastor and I have actually translated the New Testament on my own (even before I had access to Logos!). So I am very familiar with the Greek. Thus, I often want to do word searches. So how do I do it?
For example. Let's say I want to search for the word "staurow" (This is the verb that means to crucify) What if I want to find all the places that it appears? [In the Greek it is σταυρόω] Of course, since that is the rot word and not the declined form, I can't just simply ask Logos to search the NA27 (Nestle Aland Greek text) for σταυρόω. If I do that, I get 0 results. Sure I can look up the word "crucify." But that seems less helpful. After all, then I am depending upon the translation and the translators.
As a counter example, if I want to look up the word love and I want just the brotherly love, then I would want to just find the words rooted in philo while excluding agape and eros. So it would be much more helpful to be able to do that kind of search in the Greek rather than have to look up "love" in English and then self-exclude all the references to love that are not philo. In fact, this appears to be a great example because if I search for "love" in the NA27 it seems as though I only come up with the references for agape and none fo the references for eros or philo.
Help please? Have I even made myself clear?
