Accessing Syntax definitions from Reverse interlinear

Greetings. Is there a way to get information on the syntax of a word in a reverse interlinear. For example, in the reverse interlinears we get the morphology of a word, but what if I want to look up what present tense means or the dative case? Is there a way to do that? Not being a scholar, i sometimes need access to the quick definitions of the parts of speech. There is nothing under the morphological tag.

Well, typically when my brain closes down, I pop open the well known GMSDT. 'Glossary of Morpho-Syntactic Database Terminology' You probably have that but many don't know they have it.

But if you're lazy like I am, I right click the morph tag, select 'Morph' in the right column (or make sure it's selected) and then select Show Information at the bottom. That in turn brings up the info panel with the morph tag spelled out. Mousing over any one of them brings up the GMSDT definition. Magic.

By the way, I'm assuming you mean grammar when you use the word 'syntax' (which is another subject entirely).

DMB gave good tips on getting to the basic definitions of what morphology means. However, in Greek, morphology doesn't tell you everything. For example a word being in the Dative may indicate something specific, like a spatial relationship, or, it could simply be that way because it is an object of a preposition and that preposition always comes with the Dative. If you have it I suggest using the Lexham Annotations and Expansions resource. It is handy to explain what's happening with the Grammar/Syntax. However, keep in mind that when you get to annotations like this can be quite interpretive.
