Customize Default Layout

Hi -

I have searched and searched but either I am missing it or not searching the with the correct criteria.

I would like to customize the default layout. I know how to customize the Passage Guide but can't seem to figure out how to modify the rest of the layout and save it for the next time ...

BTW I have created my own layouts ...

Any help would be appreciated.

After getting the custom look you like:

In the top right hand corner click on the black triangle of "Layout"

When it opens click on the name of the top "snapshot".

Rename it -- then (you may have to close and re-open the "Layouts".}

Drag the newly named layout (which had previously just been named "snapshot) over to the left menu of "Named Layouts".

That newly named Layout can also be dragged up onto the "snapshot" bar.

[If something on your custom layout is changed--and you wish for it to stay changed--then yYou can re-save any "named layout" by right clicking on it.

Dave ... no can do. Many have wanted this little feature though (I assume you're referring to typing in a passage or word on the home page and the resulting layout). Default is default. Would also be nice to specifiy the startup layout instead of last used.

Thanks. I had a feeling. Too bad, it would be a nice feature to have. I like the idea of a Home Page being what I choose it to be but I suspect Logos wants us to open to their page for communication reasons. But, alas having a custom default page shouldn't be an issue.

You can change which Bibles and Commentary appear in the default layout by using Prioritizing to set your top 5 Bibles and your favorite Commentary.

I like the idea of a Home Page being what I choose it to be but I suspect Logos wants us to open to their page for communication reasons.

You can select what to see on the Home Page, and you don't need to open to the Home Page at all if you don't want to. Click Customize at the bottom left. You can also use Prioritization to change to other devotionals.

Although when I un-check everything, it still shows what I think is Logos News. I thought it would only show the features part of the Home Page.

The only thing I still get when I uncheck everything is the Book of the Day, which is a book already in your library, not something they want you to buy.

If you want to open to the layout you used when you closed down you should uncheck Show home page at startup.

I'm not a Homepage person but don't you have to do the Shift-F5 to clear the buffer? I wish I could turn off even the book of the day since each time I go to homepage, I have to wait .... wait .... wait .... ok ... same book as before.

My mistake. Yes it is the book of the day and what appears to be a "random" scripture passage.

I am with you on this. I would like to have, at this time, anyway my single Devotional and then work up to other stuff. But I get a book of the day, a scripture passage, and three devotionals. I only have the one in the Prioritize section, however the other two I did use for a while.

I tried Shift + F5 but to no avail.

Anyone out there have a solution on the unwanted book of the day and the legacy devotionals?

There isn't one, other than creating your own layout and opening to that instead (which is what most of us do anyway).
