Resource Question: Suicide (Historical Theology)

I'm having trouble with my library finding some good resources on suicide and the Christian. Specifically, I'd like a good historical theology or three that discusses the development of belief about the spiritual outcomes for those who commit suicide, as well as good explanations of contemporary teachings from RC and various protestant systems.

Anyone have any good resource suggestions I might add to my library on this topic?

i don't have specific details on what you are asking for, but there is a book in almost all Base packages called Basic Questions on Suicide and Euthanasia

The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church has a decent 1000-word article that relates the historical views on suicide:

John Fallahee also has a pretty good webinar on the study of suicide available for download. The first couple of resources, that he used, that discussed suicide historically were the AYBD, ISBE and Early Church Fathers Protestant Edition.

Nothing really from the RC viewpoint though (unless you count the ECF?).

Another approach is to place all of your collections one by one into a single Study Guide in other words to make a new guide using the "new guide template." Make sure you select "Bible Reference" as your guide type. Once you have completed this operation you may open your new Study Guide and query Matt 27.3-10, Judas' suicide. You can glean relevant resources by your preference.

You might try searching your library for "self-murder." My library returned 148 hits in 81 resources.

The modern RC view can be found in the Catechism, and in encyclicals like Evangelium Vitae.
