Access to Personal Books on multiple PCs

I've created several personal books, but use several PCs/laptops to access Logos. Is there some way /somewhere (maybe in the cloud somewhere??) I can place my personal books so that I don't have to duplicate them and rebuild them on each computer? As I am constantly updating my personal books, it becomes a bind to have to keep multiple copies up to date and repeat the process of rebuilding on each computer.

Sorry but there isn't any mechanism to hold Personal Books centrally at the moment.

It is something which Logos is working on - they are going to make such a store available which will provide the functionality you are looking for but we don't have timescales as yet.

John - I wouldn't hold your breath just yet… Bob said it would take a while.

I do have one solution for you… to use DropBox or something similar. The advantage of this is that you always have the most current version of the .docx file available to you on ALL computers, since they are synced.

DropBox is very useful, if you install on your other computers ,where there is internet connection , it is going to be updated.

You can also use Skydrive. Free 7 gig of online storage, and if you download the windows app on each machine, and move all of your documents into the Skydrive, all of your files are accessible on each machine (inluding those personal book docx files), they are kept in sync, and they are accessible online. Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote are also editable online with the online apps. If you need to do so, you can share files with others.

If you have had an @msn.com, hotmail.com or live.com address for a while, you may be able to get 25 gig free storage by clicking the link to manage storage, and choosing the free upgrade (though this may have expired now).

Thanks so much for this - haven't tried it yet but the tutorial makes sense. I presume when you update a docx file on one computer, you need to rebuild it in Logos on each computer to get the updates, even though the file is shared across both computers, or can you have the pbb file in the drop box? Sorry for being ignorant!! [:)]

The easiest system is to recompile the book on all computers. There is another way of compiling once and moving the pbb file, but it is more complicated.

Depends on number of personal book buildings, whether copy and rebuild is quicker than copying *.lbspbb files from resource folder in one Logos 4 installation, syncing other Logos 4 installations (update metadata), then using scan command to copy newer *.lbspbb file into resources folder (from some other folder) plus index. Personally Thankful that *.lbspbb files can be copied from one platform (e.g. PC) for use on a different platform (e.g. Mac), which is a bit easier than deleting, then adding file paths because Mac and PC are different.
