Cannot reinstall Logos

I have uninstalled Logos 4 on my computer because of constant crashes and failures in indexing.

When I try to reinstall, I get the following error message :

Logos 4 Prerequisites

The file

“C:\Users\des\AppData\Local\Logos4\Install\Installers\” is not a valid installation package for the product Logos 4 Prerequisites. Try to find the installer package “Logos4Prerequisites.msi” in a folder from which you can install Logos 4 prerequisites.

Wiki Getting Started with Logos has => Installation + Indexing with download links.

One idea is downloading then running Logos 4 PC Installer that should download prerequisites if needed.

Thanks for this suggestion. I have tried this , but still cannot install Logos. I get the following error messages

The feature you are trying to use is on a netword resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing thre the installation package ""Logos4.msi" in the box below"
Pressing OK bring up the following message. “C:\Users\des\AppData\Local\Logos4\Install\Installers\” is not a valid installation package for the product Logos Bible Software 4 . Try to find the installer package “Logos4.msi” in a folder from which you can install Logos Bible Software 4.
Pressing OK Bring up the following error message ""The Older version of Logos Bible Software 4 cannot be removed. Contact your technical suppoprt group

I had uninstalled Logos 4 thru the control panel yesterday. Trying to reinstall it as above has crerated a new installation of the software in the control panel, which I have now deleted again.

Anyone have any further suggestions

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Logos 4 twice recently with no problems. I followed the instructions at www.logos.com/support. I have windows 7 32- bit. There is also a section to clean up the uninstallation if something went wrong. I have not had to use it though.

Try this new MS utility to troubleshoot the problem -- http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

I haven't tried it but it replaces the old Windows Installer Cleanup utility which was used for these types of problems.

EDIT: it can help with both installation issues or when you try to uninstall. Try it both ways if necessary, but note that you may have to right click and "run as administrator" if des is a non-administrator user account. Before you install though:-

delete the folder C:\Users\des\AppData\Local\Logos4\
do not use "run as Administrator" with Logos4 installation programs

I downloaded the MS Installer Cleanup utility, and did indeed find the problems you mention.

However a new installation runs into the same original error messages.
