Backing up Logos resources and files question

In planning for the inevitable computer crash I hope never comes, I want to avoid having to reload my numerous individual CD's of Logos resources that are in addition to my base package.

If I were to backup my Libronix Folder (My Computer / Program Files / Libronix) and Libronix DLS (My Documents / Libronix DLS) folder to a dvd would I be able to restore all my Logos resources, annotations, workspaces, etc. with this dvd and my base package dvd? (I would also back up my license as well).

In Files forum check out "Backup and Restore of Libronix".

A DVD might be too small depending on the total size of your Resource folder, but you would initially backup to HDD, USB drive (8GB or more) or other external drive.

Very wise. There are two types of computers. 1. Those that have crashed 2. Those that will crash. A backup plan (preferably multiple types) are an essential part of owning a computer.

The other reason for backing up your resource directory is that if you have downloaded free or paid books, these will not necessarily be on any media disks as part of your original installation. I also found recently that in the process of upgrading, that I originally had Barclay's Daily Bible Study and thought that it was reloaded when I upgraded from Logos 2.0 to 3.0. It wasn't. So now I plan to do any restoring or migrations of computers from my own resource directory backups. That way everything I own is always following me. The is most likely quicker as well than having to reload each and very disk! (and re-download download only resources)

On a spurious thought, has anyone just mirrored the entire Logos FTP directory on their computers? This would be overkill for me because I have only about 1,500 resources out of the approximate 10,000!

Yes, Donovan is right. I never had a HDD crash in my 20 years of using the computers (I had software crashes and other problems many times) so I thought it cannot happen to me. Wrong. After I bought a new DELL, just 3 month later I had a HDD crash. I got replacement but apparently something was wrong with that new HDD and it crashed also in a month or so. You can imagine, I really believe in saving of Disk Image and backup of data and especially full Logos backup after that experience. I do it at least once a week. I use SyncBack utility to do that and Dave Hooton's Backup-Restore utility. Having thousands of resources without the backup of Logos is really not good idea.
