A Post on Isaiah

I am dissappointed to see that my Platinum collection does nor include any commentaries on isaiah, The only one that come close if a Isaiah 1-39 version, and I am looking for the chapters after that. Whay are the commentaries devoid of Isaiah?

Hi Cliff

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. The Platinum collection certainly does include Commentaries on Isaiah; quite few in fact.

The first thing to do is make sure that your system has completely finished downloading and indexing your resources - this is indicated by the little blue 'Logos' icon leaving the bar at the top right of your screen. Even if it has you should open Logos and type 'update now' in the command bar (the lower of the input bars).

Indexing can take hours so don't rush this stage.

Once you are sure that it has finished open your library and type 'Isaiah' and post a screen shot back here. +shift+4 will allow you to take a screen shot which you can attach to a post using the paper clip in the tool bar of the message pane.

Thanks Mike here is the screen shot, as you can see, the New American Commentary, is what I was refering to, is only chapters 1-39.

Hi Cliff

It seems that both you and I are missing the second edition of Isaiah. I does appear on the product page so I am at a loss as to why it is missing from our libraries.

However it does seem from your screen shot that you do have some commentaries that cover the chapters after 40. I take it you can access these?

I think it would be worth giving customer service a call about this. If you do so please let me know the outcome.

I don't know if this helps or adds to the frustration but just to say that I do have the NAC commentary on Isaiah 40-66 in my library.

So it looks as though it is an issue with licences or downloads as opposed to the product itself.

You are correct in your assumption Graham - does add to the frustration - but it does give us more info for Customer Service.

I had original considered that as America is such a new country they might not have got as far as reading the second bit of Isaiah. After all there is quite a lot in the first bit.

The volume in question was released in December 2009; however, it is now included in the NAC 40 volume set The New American Commentary Series (NAC) (40 vols.). When did you acquire you set?

Frequently they don't update a collection by adding any new arrivals to it but by means of a supplement. I've had to purchase a few of those separately.

So Cliff - It seems to hang on when you bought your Platinum collection. The second half of Isaiah is currently shown as part of the set but you will need to contact Customer Services and ask if it should have been included in your original download.

Perhaps some of the resources that you already own might meet the need.

Perhaps they will offer you a free/cheap upgrade.

maybe I'm looking at this from a wrong angle, but as fas as I can see, the second volume on Isaiah is only part of the $480 NAC commentary set (see http://www.logos.com/product/5391/new-american-commentary-isaiah-40-66 ) , not of the Platinum collection whereas the first volume is part of both (base packages actually from Silver upwards, see http://www.logos.com/product/5388/the-new-american-commentary-isaiah-1-39 ).

I think this is consistent with the fact that the base packages were compiled in 2009 (that's what I have from hearsay here on the forums) together with L4 - and at that time the volume on Isaiah 40+ wasn't available (1-39 is from 2007). I'd assume Logos to update the base packages in the future and then to include the commentary volumes that were published in the meantime. It's the usual way that set owners don't get additional/replaced volumes for free, unless they bought "licence included, files will follow".

Maybe CS will offer Cliff a rebate on the $30 for the volume (or they really wanted the resource to be included and the product page is wrong).
