Hi,
I like the new L4 Homepage and really wish I didn't have to turn it off, but loading is really far to slow (and that's even without logging into the Internet).
Hi Benjamin,
At first, I wanted to turn it off completely but as I have let it run automatically, I find a lot of interesting tidbits to chew on like things in my Library that I didn't even know were there. If I have a certain study I am focused on, I just turn it off or I might get distracted.
Slow isn't a good word for it. I'm running a video production grade laptop with max memory and dual core processing, 7200rpm dual Hitachi hard drives, and Logos 4 crawls at a snails pace. I've kept telling myself I'll get used to it, but I don't, and I've used Logos for so many years I've lost track. Turning off stuff does not really help like you've already noted.
To be quite frank, I'm very disappointed, and am truly debating getting my money back and going back to version 3, because I'm working on my Ph.D. dissertation, and I just don't need the agony of slow software, regardless how many great books it has.

Peace and Joy in the Lord, Gerald! *smile*
I also am very highly-educated .............. am very familiar with church or Church or churches ------------- and life, in gereral ........ (I hope! *smile*)
(I say these things because you might think me a simpleton - or not having been around - or unexperienced - or "un-sanctified" ................ and ................... have been around for a long, long, long time ............. I don't want that ............ I simply just want to "share"
*smile*
So! I don't desire to come-across to you as (judgmental, negative - or whatever - but .. positive AND ........ HELPLFUL )
............. I truly rejoice in that! ............ sorry about your "troubles" ...........
why not stay with version 3 for a while if that is good for you ................... AND!
as of TODAY! ......... any "upgrades" you possibly have made with Logos will also be downloaded to Logos 3.0g ............. (if you run the script...... )
. ............ great, eh?
>>>>>>> may I humbly and respectfully suggest that when you are waiting for "home page" --- or .......................... whatever ..............
that you
.................. please consider ................... spending a few moments in prayer OR ........meditation
even though ........... Logos 4 is far from "finished" (will it ever be???) I am more than happy with Logos 4 .................. one of these days, perhaps, (I think!) ........ you will be too ...
Yours in Christ,
............ Mel
Gerald,
that is very depressing isn't it...? Given your machine specs....that shouldn't be the case....it seems to be NOT basic "speed of hardware" as an issue but "specific configurations" that is the problem...I have a basic machine and it's very fast...some other users are using HUGE machines and it's horrible for them....
go figure.
It might be a good thing for you to keep V4 for the present and use V3 also for your dissertation. You could also return it and wait to see if the speed thing gets addressed.....
Either way...V3 is available to use just like it always was....V4 didn't overwrite...[:D]
