There were only about 200 titles on Pre-Pub, when I started this nearly a year ago.  There are now about 500, but they're being produced more and more quickly.  There are only a few exceptions, and even the number of these is falling (see http://community.logos.com/forums/p/51686/498269.aspx#498269).

Here's the latest spreadsheet tracking dates and delays, prices and savings:

Wow, that is a huge jump to go from 200 to 500. I knew it had increased but just didn't know by how much. Makes me wonder whether this pace will continue to increase over this coming year.

Happy First Birthday to the spreadsheet tracking dates and delays, prices and savings.  [^]

As I wrote when I first published it, comments, suggestions, error corrections and missing information would be welcome.

One new point to note is that two of the new philosophy resources (The Dialogues of Plato (5 vols.) and Classics in Empiricist Philosophy Collection (9 vols.)) have sale prices lower than their pre-pub prices, and well below the predicted sale prices.  I think this is a first, at least for the last twelve months, though it should be noted that they were both in community pricing, with much lower prices even than their sale prices.

Twelve months ago, there were no predicted sale prices for pre-pubs.  These are generally very reliable and appreciated, as they help to predict the most beneficial pre-pubs to invest in.

Here's the latest copy of the spreadsheet tracking pre-pub and community pricing titles:

Out of interest, who uses this, and for what?

Peace, Andrew!           *smile*              I enjoy perusing it now and again.

I remember fondly my first Community Pricing success going back to August 2009 - The Complete Works of St. Anselm of Canterbury for $4.00.

Now the list is so tremendously long -- my needs are so tremendously lower -- my finances are so tremendously not what they were --          THAT   I cannot get involved with everything as I've pretty much done for years ...    however!         I enjoy your list and the work that you've done for us ....                     and it DOES help me access what I've accomplished over against what I Still want to still accomplish re. my Logos Library -- of just over 8,000 resources             *smile*

There are two main pieces of news to report this month.

Firstly, as posted at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/73671/513806.aspx, Logos are no longer updating Feedburner with pre-pub resources.  This was my source of dates for when a product went into pre-pub.  This means that the latest spreadsheet does not have new pre-pubs added in August.

Secondly, updating the spreadsheet has become a lot more work as Logos have greatly increased the number of community pricing and pre-pub titles available.  I threw out the question last month asking who uses this and for what.  The only response was from Milford (thanks, Milford), so I've decided not to continue publishing the spreadsheet.

I think it has been useful to aggregate data over a period of time, as well as tracking the resources Logos are publishing.  When I started, there were about 200 items on pre-pub, there are now over 600, and the number is growing.  The number of community pricing titles is also growing quickly, with 237 titles at the last count.  That's a lot to track, but Logos are turning them out more quickly so there is less need to track than there was when I started.  Also, Logos were not publishing the likely pre-pub prices for community pricing titles, so there is no longer a need to try to predict these.  Finally, I think this has shown that Logos are doing a lot better than was sometimes being stated on the forums in terms of delays and providing information.  They aren't perfect, but this has hopefully demonstrated that they aren't as bad as some wild claims maintained.

Thanks to all those who have provided encouragement.  Glad it's been helpful to some at least.  I had envisaged this might be more of a group effort.  If anyone wants to keep the tracking going, feel free.

Here's the final spreadsheet from me: 0842.Prepub and CP Tracking - 01 Sep 2013.xls

I think I've asked this before and someone has told me the answer, so I either have very early dementia or I am undergoing a kind of de ja vu [:P]

So.....what's the best way to keep track of all of these books 1. as they enter pre-pub, and 2. a list of those that are currently on pre-pub?

Presumably, that would be easy just to have page that's automatically updated?  Isn't this something Logos could easily do?

Thank you Andrew for all the hard work over the years.  The community pricing model is a fun way to add resources to our Logos libraries, and I'm glad that you and other folks on the forums helped me to discover this interesting part of the Logos world.

Andrew, thanks so much for doing this over the last while. I have looked at many of your versions over the months with interest. I totally understand that you are not able to keep up with all the new resources Logos is producing these days. For all your work I offer a BIG thank you!
