Reading Plan without Passage Guide and Bible Explorer
Does anyone know how I can create a Reading Plan that just opens the Bible resource without opening Passage Guide and Bible Explorer windows concurrently? Takes a long time to load Passage Guide and Bible Explorer when all I want to do is to read the passage for the day.

Sorry Benjamin. Logos feels (and I agree in principle) that having the ability to quickly dig deeper than a surface read is a good idea.
The workarounds are simple.
1. If you have no other books open:
If you see that today's reading is Luke 1:1-25, simply type that reference in the commandbox and you're there - including the start and stop reading markers (if you have that visual turned on).2. If you have other books open: Just click the link, the bible only should open and not disturb the rest of your layout.

Well, it is kind of distracting as I'm clicking links rather than reading the passage (which is the task at hand). Also, Passage Guide and Bible Explorer both fairly similar, so couldn't we just have one of them rather than having to load both tools?

I understand what you're saying Benjamin. This is, I believe, another of those areas where we users really want some control over the way the program works.
Defaults are fine, but let me change them.

I agree, we should have the ability to change the default. Just today, I am pulling up my reading plan and as Benjamin said, I am waiting on passage and explorer to load. I want more control for customization for a more user friendly program.

Just set up your own Layout for your Reading Plan with only windows you want. I have my Bible Reading Plan linked to the NIV and only the following:
1 NIV, KJV, ME, MUHH, 4 Note files in the Main Pane.
2. Bible Knowledge Commentary in one side Pane.
3. Dictionaries in a smaller side pane.
Click on the JPG file uploaded with this post to see how it looks. I set up so as NOT to open with the Home Page and it always opens to my Reading Plan as set up.
I also saved that Reading Plan Layout as "Bible Study" and dragged it to the Tool Bar for easy setup if required after using other Layouts.

For this to work, you have to remember to save the layout each time you are through using it so that it remembers where you have read to. Also, for L4 to open back up to this layout, it has to be the last layout you used when you closed down.
I like your idea, though. I'm using something similar.

Hi Benjamin,
I agree with you regarding the PG and Explorer. They slow things down and having both of them open in my opinion is redundant. However, I have a reading layout saved as shown below. If I open it, then go to the home page and select my reading plan, the resource opens in my layout, and not the default. So, there is no need to have more defaults or control, if you just open a saved layout first. I hope this helps.

Open any book first. Then click Home and the Bible reading plan - only the bible opens.
