Lack of book information in Vyrso/Logos updates

I recently got a new Ipad 3 (IOS: 5.1.1. Logos vs. 2.1.6 and Vyrso vs 2.1.6) - and I'm still in the process of transition from my old Ipad 2 (IOS: 4.3.5 Logos vs. 2.0.2 Vyrso vs. 2.1.0.

(I rarely used updates here. I did try the recent update of Vyrso but had to change it again as everything got mixed up and unusable in the library view.)

What I really really miss in the update is the book information in both Logos and Vyrso. When you do a search on a topip:

1. the number and books are different in the 2 versions

2. There is no book information in the update like in the old one (in the library view). With a large library I really miss this. this goes for both Logos and Vyrso apps.

3. I also lost my 'preferred devotionals' (- on both ipads). I haven't changed anything in Logos. The devotionals changed to something default I think.

    Hi Ela

    1. the number and books are different in the 2 versions

Can you explain this in a bit more detail please? I don't understand the issue here.

    2. There is no book information in the update like in the old one (in the library view)

I don't have the same resource you are showing but I do get the full information on my iPad 2 (also running 2.1.6). See example below.

    image

Are you seeing this with all resources?

    3. I also lost my 'preferred devotionals' (- on both ipads). I haven't changed anything in Logos. The devotionals changed to something default I think.

This needs some current issues with Prioritization to be resolved. It should be working correctly at the desktop end but needs an update to the iPad app to fix this (don't know when it will be available)

    Hope this helps

    Thank you Graham

The info on my Ipad 2 is OK and working - but it's lacking in ALL resources on my Ipad 3 ("new Ipad") So yes, I'm seeing only the name of the resource and the download link on the info-screen.

And the resources showing up are different on the 2 screens. See picture (I did the same search 'church' on both ipads - same account) It's the same in Vyrso.

So it seems as though this is an issue with the new iPad as opposed to the version of software (as we are running the same version). Hopefully someone else with the new iPad can comment as to whether they are seeing the same thing.

The search results are different because you are sorting them differently - top left of the screen - in one case by author and the other by title.

The reason you are seeing something different in the two apps is because you are sorting differently. Notice that your iPad 2 is sorted by "author" while your new iPad is sorted by "Title."

EDIT: I see that Graham already covered this. [:)]

    Thanks Graham and Alabama

    I appreciate that - I hadn't noticed that I'd made a different sort.

But I think that the missing book information must be a bug as everything is completely uptodate - both IOS and apps.

Sounds like it - I would be interested to see if anyone else with a new iPad is seeing the same problem.

I am not seeing this…  I was able to try this out with 52 lies and I have the full book info. Is this true for this one resource or for all resources? Have you tried any of the following:

    1. Downloading the resource (or deleting the resource if already downloaded)?
    2. Killing the apps via the multi-task bar in iOS?
    3. Doing a hard shut down of the iOS device?
    4. Reinstalling the app? NOTE: you will lose any downloaded resources.

I can't imagine its related, could it? I guess I will have to go buy a new iPad to check it out (just kidding). [:D] It would be good to have verification from another user one way or another.

Don't know - but it seemed the only difference between my configuration and Elisabet's.

    I did consider it!!

I have a new ipad. Here is what I discovered. It all depends on how the
books in the library are listed. If they are listed with the large
icons, the book information is missing. If they are listed as a long
list (with the small icons) the book information is present. This is true for both the Logos app and Vyrso.

LPH - I just tried to list books with small icons - and you're right. It works this way. I'm happy to see that I'm able access the information this way.

However - it does work in both modes on the Ipad 2 - but I can live with it.

(Everybody in my working place got the new IPAD to use on the job. That's why I'm in the fortunate situation of having 2 great devices at the moment. The screen on the new Ipad is really great but unfortunately I cannot take advantage of the faster Internet here in Europe)

I appreciate your help! Thanks again.

Hi LPH - and welcome to the forums.

Great work and I can confirm this on the iPad 2.

So it's an issue with the library function.

Thanks Graham. I assume Logos support will have to look into this.

I installed the app on an iPad 2 and the information appeared in both modes. I was only using the free app though. I don't know if that made a difference or not.

I have an original iPad, and am running 2.1.6. When viewing the library in "book cover" mode, the info panel on my iPad does NOT provide the book information. If it hasn't been done already, I will create a new "Bug" thread about this.

Hi alabama24 - I need to clarify something. I did install the app on the iPad 2 and it worked in both modes. When I said I was only using the  free app, I failed to indicate that I had not signed into a Logos account. This particular iPad belongs to my husband and he does not have an account with Logos. Also, he does not have it set up with email, so I cannot show the screens as they appear on his iPad.

My iPad is the new iPad. I am experiencing the same problem as others are experiencing. I am signed into my account.

    Both iPads are running 2.1.6.

Did you install Logos on your husband's device to test this, or was it previously installed? Does he use the app? If not, can you Log in to your account to see what happens?

Yes, I installed the app on his device just to test the problem. It was not previously installed. He does not use the app.

Per your request, I signed in to my account on his device and experienced the missing book information problem just as previously described.

What I was trying to say earlier is that I did not know if the app was working correctly because I had not signed into an account. Until you asked, I had not made any attempt to sign in on his device using my account. Therefore, my test using the iPad 2 was incomplete.

I agree with the assessment that it is a bug in the software.
