How do I save a layout?

You can drag a named layout to the "Favorites" list. This is useful if you organize your studies around Favorites. For instance, you could have a folder with the name "Romans" where you have accumulated links to resources that you use for this study. When you get a layout of interest, you can name it and save it in that Romans folder.
BTW: I have no idea what would happen if you were to later delete or edit that same layout in the layouts menu. You might want to investigate this before you depend on "archiving" the layout by moving it to Favorites.

Tried it. If you right-click on the layout and select "Update to Current Snapshot" the link in Favorites will open the updated layout. If you delete the layout, the link will remain in Favorites, but it will be dead—nothing happens when you attempt to use it.

I'll check into this. Thank's, Jack.
Since there seems to be some interest, I created a layout to save in Favorites. I then renamed the layout and the link still worked.
I think that the link to the layout going dead in the case that the layout is deleted may be as good as we can expect. Dragging the layout to favorites only supplies a pointer to the layout object in the layout menu. Fortunately, it is not a name-based pointer so the pointer will still work even if the layout is renamed. But if you delete the layout one would expect such a pointer to go "dead". Any attempt to preserve it would probably not allow it to be updated and controlled from the Layout window.
The behavior is not consistent with the Windows version. I put a case in about it. I am not sure if the design is for the favorite to disappear, or for it to act as it does in the Windows version; namely, that the favorite link still actually works.
I am actually using an up-to-date Windows version on XP. After I deleted my original layout the copy in Favorites worked for a few minutes. I noticed that the right-click produced a menu appropriate for a normal resource favorite item which didn't make much sense for a layout favorite. For instance, do I really want to "Open in a new tab"? After I tried these options with no result the layout favorite would not work any more. Out of the corner of my eye it seemed like the link went dead at the same time that Logos 4 completed a sync operation as denoted by the rotating circle icon.
