Are you able to open and close the NKJV independently of the layout? I'll also take a look at the other thread you linked to.

That was the NRSV, and yes I can close it independently of the layout. In fact, I cannot repeat the crash. Do not recall now whether it was repeatable then or not. Sometimes—not often—I report single crashes because the logs may reveal something.
