The NA28 is coming, the NA28 is coming
This fall a new edition of the critical NT is to be released http://www.dbg.de/index.php?id=319. Apparently there is to be a stand alone introduction explaining critical editions and the NA28 specifically which would be of interest as well http://tcg.iphpbb3.com/forum/64774768nx21631/textual-criticism-general-discussion-f18/nestle-aland-28-edition-preview-t262.html. It would be desirable to have a Logos edition which reflects not simply the text itself but the layout of the edition (especially in light of the news that the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft doesn't intend to issue a new edition of their software with critical apparatus.

So will I. As I mentioned (or at least implied), it would be good to have the passage refences in the sidebar and the TC information at the bottom included (and linked). I wouldn't feel badly about paying once again for that.

Let's hope that Bob, the Germans and/or Hendrickson are just as excited to make this available for Logos. I'm sure they're way ahead of us. Bob has probably been working on an NA28 interlinear for some time now!

I just ordered the 28th edition of the Nestle-Aland Greek text this morning from Amazon (this is a pre-order) and will have the ESV on the facing page. $36.00.
Thought that would be handy when off line and reading at the table.

Sounds interesting from what I have read, and the little that I know. The changes in the catholic letters should be interesting if I read the info correctly. Is there anything earth shattering in this new addition, that affect future translations of the Bible?

Editio Critica Maior (ECM) is a critical edition of the Greek New Testament being produced by the Institut für neutestamentliche Textforschung (Eng. "Institute for New Testament Textual Research"). It is a work (in progress) in multiple volumes, and is intended to cite a more complete list of variant readings than can be incorporated in a manual edition. The University describes the edition as follows:
The Editio Critica Maior documents the Greek textual history of the first millennium based on Greek manuscripts of special relevance for the textual tradition, on older translations and on quotations of the New Testament in ancient Christian literature. Based on genealogical studies of the material prepared for the first time with this completeness the text is being newly reconstructed. The selection of manuscripts rests on an analysis of the entire primary tradition. Every selected manuscript is entered into a database with all its readings and registered in the critical apparatus. The edition thus offers information to answer continuative questions: How does the text change in the course of history and why? How was a text received in early Christianity?"[1]
Currently, the volumes include the General epistles, and incorporate only twenty-five changes from the text used in the United Bible Societies' fourth edition of the Greek New Testament and the twenty-seventh edition of the Nestle-Aland. The editors of both single volume New Testaments will incorporate these minor updates in future editions.
