PBB files and teaching new Logos users

I will be teaching Logos 4 this January, and some of the students will be new Logos users, and therefore will have only Logos 4. I use PBB books I make for teaching purposes, and it would be helpful for all the students to be able to read them. I'm assuming that there isn't a way to download version 3 and resources from the ftp site and get it to recognize the appropriate license level from the version 4 installation, but I thought I would ask. For example, if a student purchases Logos 4 Silver, is there a way for that student, on the same machine, to download, install and unlock version 3, version 3 resources and the requisite addins and make it work?

You may be able to unlock the Logos3 engine, but that won't help without the PBB reader, which, up to this point, was only sold via a base package. I doubt that you want your students to purchase a Logos 3 base package, and then purchase a Logos4 crossgrade.

You may wish to contact Logos academic dep't and discuss this with them. You may be able to work out a temporary deal with them to keep you going in your class, and get your students into Logos4. Logos seems eager to work well with the academic community, so this would definitely be an avenue worth pursuing with them.

My understanding is that your license is synchronized. So if the L4 package is one that would include the PBB reader in L3 it should work. The L3 engine is free. Also, all the books that are available in L3 that are under the L4 license will be available for use in L3.

I vaguely remember one of the Logos people (Bradley?) say that the L4 base packages include the LDLS licenses for all the addins that were in the equivalent level of the previous packages. If this is true then PBB readers should be usable in an LDLS installation if it has licenses from a L4 base package.

DISCLAIMER: I still think calling and talking to Logos is a good idea, in case my memory is faulty or my information incomplete.

Thanks for all the replies. They give me some hope it may work. As a few suggested, though, I will call Logos, maybe after the rush cools down a bit, if no one from Logos answers here.
