footnotes in commentary, can they be controlled?

I have completed a bible commentary by John Trapp (1601-69); I have had to resort to making each book separately because the amount of footnotes 1178 in Genesis, they don't reset each chapter and if I join the next book the footnotes number continue 1179 and continues as I make one file into one.

Any ideas to reset footnotes when making a PPB (it works in Word 2011 Mac, docx file), any ideas for me to resolve the problem, even if it controls each chapter would be nice if the whole work cannot be done.

Logos 4 do not have this commentary, so if anyone is interested let me know.

To restart footnote numbers, you can use separate word documents and then combine all the documents into one with the Personal Book Compiler.

Hi Ken,

That's what I have done, but to reset each chapter would be nicer than having 1178 footnotes in Genesis. If I collected all the 66 books into one the footnotes would be several thousand footnotes. If there's no way to do this I'll have to put them out single books.
