I have Alpha 4 for mac and ever since the update if I close my Logos and reopen it begins to index again.
Is this normal?

I get that as well even though I haven't added any resources. The kick in the pants is that if you buy a new resource, the whole library re-indexes itself which means another 18+ hour ordeal! WOW!
Joseph, we had the same experience in the windows beta process as well. And think of this, every time the developers make code changes, they also have to reindex every single time to test it out. some are reindexing multiple times every single week. So I think they are motivated to optimize, but it takes time. The good news is that once indexing is optimized for the Mac it will not reindex every time you add a book.
