Using Logos to File Illustrations

Anyone thought of a way to use Logos for saving illustrations?

In other words, when I come across a nifty saying, story, etc., I'd like to be able to file it somehow in Logos.

While that may not be possible now, perhaps it's as simple as highlighting text, right clicking, choosing the email symbol in the "Share:" field, adding some tags, and then sending the email to my account.

Then I could set up some rules to begin filing the email automatically to be searched and retrieved later.

What are your thoughts for using Logos to file illustrations?

What I have done for years is to have a notefile with quotes and illustrations. When I add quotes and illustrations I generally add them by connecting them to a single verse. Rather than tying quotes or illustrations to topics I rather tie them to a verse that is one of the clearest examples of the topic that is being discussed. I have found that as I study a verse and look at some cross references I will generally come across the good illustrations or quotes that I have stored up.

I have done this for about 8 years now.

I follow the same the procedure. I save the illustration in "Bible Passage Notes," right clicking onthe verse that I think is best linked to that saying/story.

I just hope Logos doesn't get tired of saving all my illustrations in their cloud.

If you are willing to do so you could compile a Personal Book with your illustrations. You'd start with a Word file and use the Personal Books tool to compile it. You could add tags for scripture references and topics (use the Headword milestone for topics). The wiki can get you started: http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books

The Logos 3 Sermon File Addin allowed you to file sermons and illustrations. This feature hasn't been implemented for Logos 4 and we don't know what it will look like when that is done. In the meantime one of the previous suggestions or the one above, or using something like OneNote would be the best alternative.

I tried putting them in a personal book but have since found that it is 1) easier to just make a note and 2) I find them more consistently when they are in a note.

Good suggestions from all!

Having one's illustrations/Quotes in the cloud does make me pause. Ideally, I'd like to save everything in the cloud and have a copy locally on the computer. A seamless, painless way of quickly filing material and then moving on with my train of thought. There's gotta be an app for that! [A]

If they are illustrations from resources from within Logos you could use Clippings. You could also build a Personal Book, copy the items from the PB to a Clipping file and add your tags.
