Thank you so much for being willing to assist me with Logos 4.  I am looking to identify all metaphors and similes in the book of Psalms.  I contacted Logos and they provided me with a link with the following information.

1.  Create a collection that includes Figures of Speech resource

2.  Create a passage guide that has only one section - collection that you created in 1

3.  Use a layout (saved or ad hoc) that has the passage guide you built, your Bible and your book

4.  Link the guide and the Bible

5.  It behaves somewhat like you want

Unfortunately, I need more detail than what is provided below.  Can
someone please provide the step by step guidance for the five steps above or is there a video to help me with this? I would really appreciate any assistance that someone could provide to me.  If possible, I appreciate it by this Friday.  Thank you so much.

The best place to get the details is on the wiki - see the link on the upper right hand corner. It points to both text and video resources. However, they gave you a longer answer than I would. Open Figures of Speech by Bullinger. Open a basic search and select open resources for your search range.

Then I'd look in the book to find the page range of the results that are of interest. Not perfect but as good as I know how to get.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    1.  Create a collection that includes Figures of Speech resource

Collection is found in Tools. You select Collection. Name it something like My Figure of Speech Collection. In Rules portion of Collection enter author:bullinger this will allow Figures of Speech resource to populate the Resulting Collection section of the Tool. You may now close this Collection it is saved by default.

    2.  Create a passage guide that has only one section - collection that you created in 1

To make a special Passage Guide. Navigate to Guides, open it and locate Make a New Guide Template, select this. Name it something like Figure of Speech Guide. Find Collections, select this. Select from the drop down list the Collection you created in step 1. You may now close this Guide it too is saved by default.

    3.  Use a layout (saved or ad hoc) that has the passage guide you built, your Bible and your book

Open your favorite Bible, the Guide you made in step 2, (which can be found in Guides), and Figures of Speech resource. Go to Layouts and name this layout something like Figures of Speech.

    4.  Link the guide and the Bible

Finally, in sequence navigate to the Tab on your Bible and your Guide and select link set A for each of these resources. Now the fun can begin. I started with Psalm 1 and I include a screen shot below to give representation of how your finished work should look. Ignore the markup of the text, it is the result of unrelated study. I hope this serves you well.

    5.  It behaves somewhat like you want

After working with this question for a bit, I've come upon a more satisfying application to the method suggested to the OP by Logos.

Substituting The Dictionary of Biblical Imagery which is found in The Essential IVP Reference Collection for Bullinger's work. The result gleans a wider swath of metaphors, similes and discussion. I include the link below for your convenience:
