Scholarly commentaries in the Leader's Library

I have recently purchased the Leader's Library since that was all I could afford. A Master's paper I have to write requires me to use commentaries that are more "scholarly" and less "devotional". In other words, I need commentaries that actually get into the Greek and Hebrew (it is for a Greek class) and are meant more for teachers and pastors than lay people. I understand that you get what you pay for and what I am looking for is probably in the Scholar's package or higher, but could anyone tell me if there are any scholarly commentaries in the Leader's Library?

To answer your question, (IMHO) there are no scholarly commentaries in any of the base packages that should be used for a "master's paper" until you reach the "gold" scholar package.

Tom is correct, the commentaries found the base packages below Scholars are more devotional in nature. Have you checked into the payment plan to upgrade to Gold, Silver or Platinum? Also did you use the Academic discount? I know when I used it in seminary it saved me a lot. The payment plan can spread the cost out and the discount will lower the payments. If you purchased it within the last 30 days I think they can switch it around. Scholars packages will include some commentaries you can use for a Masters level paper.

Note that the page has not been updated in four years. It does not list NICOT/NT, which should be S P. Nor does it list Anchor Yale, with which I am not familiar. Would that set be S or S P?

Most of what you want is not going to be in any of the base sets. You just might want to purchase the sets that you will need/want. For an example, the following sets will work for your paper: Hermeneia, Baker Exegetical, ICC, JPS {Portfolio}, NIGTC {Gold, Platinum, & Portfolio}, PNTC {Platinum, & Portfolio}, UBS OT/NT{Gold, Platinum, & Portfolio}, WBC, NICOT/NT, and Anchor.

Out of the 12 above sets, three are in gold; four are in platinum, and five are in portfolio.

You can purchase these sets for less money than you can for the base package.
