Logos Crash on open

I installed Mountain Lion when it came out on Wed, and haven't used Logos until now so I'm not positive they are connected, but now whenever I try and start Logos, it will crash. I receive no error message, but I have done several restarts and have tried in safe mode - nothing works.

Any ideas?

As Hans noted, logs will be necessary for anyone to analyze your problem. You could also call Customer Support, the phone number is on the Logos website.

I get no error message of any kind. I have noticed several threads which have basically the same content. There is something wrong, and since I am not getting any error message I don't know where to look. I did download and install a new copy of the basic Logos software and I still have the issue.

Would like to look at diagnostic logs, especially Logos4.log and Logos4Error.log files. By default, ~/Library folder is hidden, with many ways to see contents => http://www.macworld.com/article/161156/2011/07/view_library_folder_in_lion.html and can assign keyboard shortcut => http://mac.finerthingsin.com/post/7849528212/lion-library-folder-visible

Could enable diagnostic logging, restart Mac, launch Logos 4 Mac. If crash repeats, then compress log files and attach to a forum reply.

Optional: download and use 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.

I did download and install a new copy of the basic Logos software and I still have the issue.

Logos 4 uses many SQLite database files, which are not affected by downloading and installing a new copy of the application bundle. Note: the database version is checked by the application: if database is newer than application, an error is written to diagnostic log files and the application quits.

There is a process to allow Logos 4 to generate an error log. Follow the directions here: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Then, post the logs generated by that process to this thread.

I had the same problem too. Here is what I did to solve the problem.

First I deleted Logos 4

Reinstalled Mountain Lion

Install Logos 4 back to Mac

Then, it should work. I believe that it has something to do with how the upgrade removes previous files during the upgrade. I don't think every had gone through the same issues. I am 50/50. My MacPro work the very first time. My MacBook Pro I had to follow the above steps. I hope that this works for you if you indeed try this route. I must add, even though I removed Logos4 from the applications folder to the trash can and deleted it, the files for some reason where still there when I loaded Logos 4 back to the application folder.

Hi James,

You posted a crash log, we need the logs that Logso 4 makes after you run the command in the instructions Hunter posted. Can you please look over the part about how to post the logs again? You should be finding a file named "Logos4.log" in the Logging folder which is in your Logos 4 folder.
