How do i set this up?
in order for this to work, you have to save a layout... only saved layouts are synced with the Logos servers.
Thank you, that helps me sync layouts but it does not sync the reading position. For example: I am reading in my utmost for his highest--today nov 19, I move forward to nov 22 but that move is not reflected on the laptop.
It should work automatically if "use internet" is turned on on both computers. I recommend also unchecking the "show homepage at startup" on both setups (bottom left corner on the hompage, click Customize). To make certain everything is synced before you leave one machine double click the circle at the upper right side to force Logos to synchronize. Then shut down Logos, when you open it on another machine it should all be as you left it on the other machine.
sorry, i have tried what you have written but it does not save the spot
Edit: You can use a bookmark to save your current position, usually the day of the year books open up to the current day. Or you can use the command 'Open In my utmost for his highest to November 22'
The saved layout won't remember the new position because it has information regarding the position you were at when you saved.
Thanks the bookmarks work. I was confused because the way the material made it sound, I thought I would be able to close my desktop software and then open the notebook software and "magically" it would be the same as it was when I closed it. IE: not having to save bookmarks etc. Thanks!
OK, I selected my Daily Bible Reading Notes Layout on my laptop. How do I save it so the Logos server will save it for access on my desktop? Is there a separate "Save" step or is selecting it "Saving" it?
While using L4, it will always have a "snapshot" in the Layouts menu of your current layout - once you decide the current layout is how you like things just edit the name of the snapshot and it will become a saved layout on the left side. Ensure that in Program Settings you have "Use Internet" set to "Yes" (if it was set to No you have to restart L4) - and you can see the spinning circle in the top right next to the layouts menu - when it spins that means it sync'd something. So after saving the layout it should automatically sync - or you can just click the circle icon and it will force a sync.
Then you launch L4 on another machine and (with Use Internet set to Yes) it should automatically update your layouts menu with that layout.
