Need help on syntax search looking for patterns similar to ἐκ πιστεως εἰσ πίστιν in Rom 1.17.

I'm still a rookie on Logos 4 (Mac), and I'd like to be able to find other ε͑κ _____ ει͑ς ____ phrases where the same lemma is the object of each preposition. (Another example is ε͑κ θανάτου ει͑ς θανάτον in 2 Cor 2.16. In addition, I'd like to know if there is a way to find these constructions in the LXX and the Perseus library as well as the NT. Thanks very much to anyone who can tell me if this is possible and walk me throughout the process.

From one noob to another, εκ WITHIN 2 WORDS εις found one other instance. This search resulted in 20 hits--a list short enough to examine using my Mark One Eyeball. You might not want to include it in your list, though: John 4:54.

One of the experts will surely come up with a more elegant solution that has only three hits.

The diagram below shows a possible search (on Windows).

This was constructed against the Cascadia syntax graph (available on some base packages) and I started from looking at how the Cascadia system represents the phrases then built a search to match

The key thing is the "agreement" rule where I have specified that the lemma for node 4 is the same as that for node 3.

I have also explicitly specified the prepositions you stated - omitting those allows a wider range of search results.

This search returns three hits - the two you mentioned in your original post and Luke 10:7 as well.

I won't go into more details as to how the search is constructed as they may be different on Mac but hopefully this provides some pointers.

For the Septuagint you would need its associated Cascadia graphs which are not currently available - currently in "PrePub at http://www.logos.com/product/6618/cascadia-syntax-graphs-of-the-septuagint).

I don't know of any currently available syntax graphs for either the Septuagint or the Perseus Collection (I would be surprised if the latter became available)
