Does anyone know how to display the original Bible Translation Version footnotes in Libronix 3.0e, or whether this is even possible?
It would be disappointing if the translators' footnotes for each version are not provided.
Thanks.
Hi Rodney and welcome to the Logos forums!
Which translation(s) are you referring to? I have quite a few and the notes are displayed nicely.
On the top menu 'View" do you have 'Bible Text Only' checked? (I sometimes forget). The Bible-Text-Only unfortunately also removes the footnotes.
Hi DMB,
Thanks for your quick response and the welcome.
The problem relates to all the Bible translations I have with the Bible Study (Green) edition of Libronix 3.0e.
I don't see any translators' footnotes with any of these. (I'm referring to the standard footnotes that would appear with any print edition of any of these versions.)
I checked out the "View / Bible Text Only" toggle option again in both positions and it simply displays the Bible passages in verse form (with verse numbers) when it is checked. In the unchecked position it displays the Bible passage in paragraph form, but with no footnotes or references to them.
I cannot find any reference as to how to display these footnotes but it is encouraging if you are able to see them. What Libronix version are you running?
Many thanks,
Rodney
Rodney, I do not have Libronix installed and have not used it for awhile. But from memory, they show up in the information pane.
http://www.logos.com/support/windows/L3/L3_Support Rodney, this might be of assistance to you.
The footnotes can be seen when you hover over the footnote numbers as shown below.
If you have the information window option, the footnote will also be seen there when you hover over the footnote number.
Hi Todd, Lynden and DMB,
Sorry for the delay in responding - night-time and away from my computer here this morning.
I don't know how to reply to you all at once on this forum, but thank you all for your helpful responses.
The footnotes do appear as in your examples, Todd, and I am happy now that it is working. My problem was that my default version was set to Revised Standard Version for which Libronix 3.0e has apparently not provided the translators' footnotes - pity!. The other point is that footnotes do not seem to appear in the parallel versions feature, so I was misled to thinking none of the versions had footnotes.
Thanks very much again.
Thanks very much again. Rodney
Peace to you, Rodney! *smile*
Libronix 3.0g is now available. Perhaps someone might know if you need to upgrade to that version for best performance. When I was using Libronix, I had 3.0g installed for quite a long time!
Hi Milford,
My problem with translation footnotes in Libronix 3.0e has been resolved, but thanks for your reminder regarding the newest Libronix version 3.0g.
I have now upgraded my 3.0e to 3.0g. I don't know what the improvements are but I'm sure there'll be many.
Regards,
