Inline Scripture verse citations scrambled

In the Vatican II documents, chapter 3 sections 12 and 13, several inline citations to scripture verses seem to be off. The notes in question are numbered 115 to 118. One cited verse will actually pertain to the subsequent citation text.

This has not caused me a problem, as I can find the correct verse from one of the other notes in this small section. But it raises the question of why this happens -- is this a corruption of my indexing, or is there something more fundamental going on with the resource?

Also, is this the right venue for bringing this type of issue up? I welcome any suggestions.

Logos marks it as "VII 3.12" which is how i obtained my numbering.
It is Lumen Gentium, chapter 2 (On the People of God), numbered paragraph blocks 12 to 13.
What I previously called chapter 3 refers to Lumen Gentium.

I think I see this as well.

Just to check we are referring to the same thing - footnote 115 (1 Thess 5:12, 19-21) should actually be the reference for footnote 116.

Is this an example of what you mean?

If so, the question would be whether the original documents have this error or whether it was introduced during the digitisation process.

Does anyone have a hardcopy of the documents to check?

I don't but if you got to the vatican website, you'll find Lumen Gentium there and it has the same thing.

So it looks as though both digital versions have the same problem so I would assume they are either both produced from the same electronic reference or this issue is present in the original documents.

Yes, you are right. I can confirm it's 115 to 118 that's off (the root cause may be an oversight in document compilation at Vatican, since 114 and 115 both refer to texts from 1 Cor 12.

115 is: 1 Thess 5:12, 19-21 - should be 1 Cor 12:7

116 is: Jn. 11:52 - should be 1 Thess 5:12, 19-21

117 is: Heb. 1:2 - should be Jn. 11:52

118 is (Logos, missing on Vatican website): Jn. 11:52 - should be Heb. 1:2

This forum is good for discussion of such things, as you wanted to clarify whether the issue affects other users as well. Now we should report these things as typos through the Logos app.

I've confirmed Mick's 'should be's' in both Flannery's edition and the Swedish translation. I'm about to send Andrew an e-mail about the VII documents anyway; I'll attach a link to this thread as well.

Just out of curiosity, where do you see that? My reference box says Lumen gentium 12, and I can't seem to figure out any place that refers to it as 3.12.

Many thanks to all here who have put in good work. I read that the citation issue I am seeing may be from the original source documents, and in particular that others can vouch for what I see. Thanks for informing the Logos staff as well, I am a relatively new user and was hoping that, if there was substance to my issue, that it would find its way to the appropriate folks there.

About the document numbering scheme I see, this probably is an iPad artifact. That is what shows up in a box in the upper left in the iPad's display, next to the index navigation pull down. To be fair, it really says 'Vaticanii 3.12' (senior moment or something), but the numbering is still the same.

The regular way to report issues like this is to select the incorrect link, right-click, choose Selection in the right column and Report typo in the left, and then add a comment like "Incorrect link", plus the correct one if you've found it.

That might explain it. I don't have an iPad. Still a bit weird that it's different, though.
