Indexer Crashed

I opened Logos 4 and got a window that read "Logos Bible Software Indexer has stopped working.". Logos will open, but none of my library is there. =(

Please help! I would like to be able to regain the use of my library!

Hello, Rachel!

You appear to be running an older version of Logos. The first thing you could try is updating your Logos to the latest version by going HERE to see if that fixes the problem.

I have tried to install the latest version, but every time I do, I get a window that reads: "Setup was unable to download a required file.".

Rachel, have you tried to restart the computer? If a windows machine is this the only software giving problems? I would also recommend running software that will remove errors in windows if it is. Advanced System Care usually works for me.

Caution: It will clear your browsing history, as well as the folder showing the last documents that you opened. If these are important, then you need to tweek the software and uncheck the relevant boxes.

Hello Rachel,

Do your Windows updates work? Can you go to your Start menu, and then type Windows Update in the search bar there and select it from the results at the top? If you see a red X indicating your last updates failed you will want to get that addressed as whatever is preventing your Windows updates is likely also preventing Logos' updates. If you don't see a red X in the window click "View update history" on the left. If you see that any updates have failed recently you will want to address that as well before trying Logos updates.

Hi Rachel,

I'm sorry to hear my suspicions were accurate. My advice is to contact your computer's manufacturer if it is still under warranty. If your warranty has run out then go to a computer repair shop where the employees are Windows certified, or call Microsoft (800) MICROSOFT (642-7676). After you get the update issue resolved, Logos 4 should be operating correctly. If it is not, please contact us at your earliest convenience. 800-875-6467.
