Keeping downloaded resources between updates of beta 2.0.x versions?

I recently had to downgrade from Build 43 to Build 42, due to the MacArthur Study Bible not working properly in 43. When I did that, I lost all downloaded resources, which was a LOT of work that had to be redone.

Now I am considering upgrading to Build 49, since it sounds like the scrolling, etc. is working well.

Question: Will I lose downloaded resources when switching between beta Build 49 and the next beta?

Those of you who went from beta 48 to beta 49, did you have to re-download all resources?

NOTE to Developers: When you enable desktop management of resources downloaded on mobile devices, please be SURE to allow for management of multiple devices! I don't want the same resources on my phone as I need on my tablet! Thanks.

If you had to uninstall then you will lose resources. For devices running a standard Android OS an upgrade does not do this.

I'm not sure what you mean by standard Android OS. I have 2.3.4 of Android on my phone, and the Kindle Fire with it's standard OS. Did you mean a stable Build of Logos that is downloaded from the Google Play or Amazon App Store? I know that you don't have to uninstall when updating from these sources.

Thanks for your help. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth me to move to the beta versions, if it means that I have to re-download all resources with every new Build.

I'm not sure what you mean by standard Android OS.

Kindle Fire uses a modified version of Android OS, but if the app can be downloaded from the Amazon App store you won't have to uninstall (v 2.0.6 just released should be available in a few days). If you install from a download link then you must uninstall it first.

In case anyone is wondering, when I upgraded to Build 50 from the Android Market, all of my downloaded resources remained on my phone (which was running Build 43 that had been installed from Android Market).

So, don't get tempted to install an update that you side download directly from Logos, unless you don't care if you have to re-download your books/resources to your phone/tablet. Wait for the update to appear in the Market.
