How do you create a daly devotion or a reading plan on Android?
Didn't think this was implemented yet, if it is how?

Gabe, I will load this on my TouchPad when I get home from work and test it out. There is no mention of the issue some are having with highlighted passages not showing in normal mode. Has this been fixed? We haven't heard from Logos on this bug.

Where do we find this Android Suite on our phones? On the Play Store or in our browser?

By the way, I haven't been able to utilize my highlights, notes, etc. on my android yet after receiving my email stating I would be able to.

Hi Donna - and welcome to the forums

Where do we find this Android Suite on our phones? On the Play Store or in our browser?

This beta is available through the browser - links as per the first post in this thread

By the way, I haven't been able to utilize my highlights, notes, etc. on my android yet after receiving my email stating I would be able to.

This is not available until version 2 - either through this beta or when the stable release becomes available through the store.

    Hope this helps

I downloaded this beta android suite 2.0.6 on my phone and I like it now that I can put all my markings and highlights that I do on my laptop version, but I lost all the bibles and books that I had previously, because it deleted the app, logos that I had previously on my phone. Why did it delete everything but the one bible I had been using? Where are all the other bibles and books I had on here?

if this is the first install of 2.0 beta then sadly you will have to re download, but it kept mine when I changed from 2.05 to 2.06

I went to reinstall it and it says in the Google Play that it's already installed, but all I can find is my Bible I use all the time on Logos. What do I do?

Nice update, but still doesn't have a reading mode like all the other great reading apps in which the bottom status bar is dimmed (in Android 3+ the icons become three faint dots) - this feature is essential for low light reading.

The only reading plan you can create from the device is a "Read the bible in a year" but you can add reading plans that you created on the desktop. Thus the need to be signed in for reading plans.

For devotions you need to be signed in with at least a free account in order to have access to a daily devotional resource (Morning and Evening). If you sign up for the Faithlife Study Bible you'll also have access to Connect the Testaments: A daily devotional. If you've purchased other devotional resources those show up and can be added to the devotions section.

Well updated on my tablet and still can only see highlighters in low light mode. Underlinings, etc still show in normal. Team Logos this bug has been reported multiple times over many releases but is not on known issues. Is there a way to fix it?

Works well for the most part on my Toshiba Thrive but many of my notes come up as "not available"

Crashing on my Kindle Fire when I switch from my default Bible (NASB) in the top window to any other book. The NASB is the version I have been marking so there are a lot of highlights. I can switch to any other book in the bottom window with no problem.

After updating, I could not find a history (book, that is), home page,  the daily devotional is gone and (strictly in my opinion only) the interface is one of the worst I have seen for a smartphone.  On a screen this small, simplicity is needed and the new interface is not it.

Yes, I like the highlighting visibility, but make it so you don't have to bounce/swipe around just to get to a single location.

Before: 1 button and 1 soft button and you were there.  Now: 1 button (Oops, that takes you back a screen), 1 button (Oops, that switches screens, but doesn't get you where you want.), 1 swipe (Opens a page that has 4 of the 6 buttons you want, but the two that are missing are the ones you need.), 1 swipe (You are back at square one.)  Later you find that there is no home page anymore.  Ah well....

I will still keep the app on the phone for access (hopefully) to books in the library and word study, but no longer for Bible reference or devotional. [:(]

I stand corrected on finding the history.  Apparently the tiny little buttons that are in the upper right can get you to the book history page.  Otherwise, the necessary actions needed to navigate make it much less user friendly than the previous version.

Apparently the tiny little buttons that are in the upper right can get you to the book history page.

Those tiny buttons, while clickable, are really intended as merely an indicator of which page you are on. You can use a swiping gesture to move between the five different pages and access your information quickly. You are correct that there is no longer a home page, but the devotions content and the news content are both still accessible in the side panel.

If you are specifically interested in getting to your history quickly, this can be accomplished in one long-press of the back button.

since i got Bible2.0.5 & now with Bible 2.0.6 (build 50) i still can't get my devotions to load (just a spinny thing) i just want to get my daily reading plan like i had with the earlier version

i am logged into my account & when i read the passage that is part of my reading plan it shows it with the scripture text & lets me click done but doesn't import that info to logos on my PC & won't show anything on the devotions section

so: Bible 2.0.6 (build 50), Samsung Galaxy 4G, Android 2.2.1

Perhaps I should have been more specific.  I understand they are not "clickable" buttons, but the interface is small and confusing.  Why not just put arrows?

The devotionals are easy to find, but not to include in your daily use as they do not appear on the screen with the news as they did.

The history I was referring to (and did state it in my previous message) is the "book" history.  There are times when I want to jump between two references and this can be done, but again it takes several steps when it used to just take two.

I am not saying this is a complete bust, but that this upgrade has complicated use rather than making it simpler or keeping it at the same level of complexity. Having a lot of features is great, but the average user will not use most of the features on any given program if the interface is not user friendly.

Please understand I am trying to be constructive in my assessment of this change in the program.  The Android platform is great for certain functions, but can't take the place of the PC for completeness (imagine what a word study analysis would look like on the Android).

Therefore, it seems plausible that keeping with ease of use, even in the face of not putting every feature on the smartphone app would make sense.

    Just my .02 worth.

I'm confused...how are people downloading the new version to their Kindle Fire?  I only see version 1.1.3.2 in the Amazon Appstore.

The new version has been published to the Amazon Appstore, but it may take a few days for Amazon to approve it. The people that already have the new version on their Kindle Fire have installed it via the beta links at the top of this thread. At this point, we do not recommend you use the beta links since a stable version will be available on the Amazon Appstore as soon as it is approved.

Well, I have the App, but only 44 books (mostly Bibles I don't use) available. How do I get access to at least some of my devotionals, commentaries, etc.

Thanks for making this available, I feel sure you are working to make it the best.

    Hi James

This sounds as though you are only picking up the free resources which Logos make available for users of the mobile app.

Have you signed into the app using yourr normal Logos username and password?

Is the Samsung Galaxy Pocket (Gingerbread IOS) supported on this version 2 beta app? Logos prompted the update and download.  I downloaded and ran the install but then after if finished it gave me "application not installed" - it gave no error message, only, instead of "installation complete/successful", it said "not installed".  I run Logos version 1.1.3.2 build 43 ok on this Gingerbread iOS). I have attempted the install several times but to no avail.

Description – New Beta doesn't install.
App Info – Bible & Faithlife Study Bible
Device Info – Samsung Galaxy Pocket (GT-S5300)
      Android Version – 2.3.6

Thanks Graham for your response. What I have done is:

    Uninstalled the App

Re-downloaded and signed in with my Logos Username & Password. Accepted, opened OK.

Still only 44 books out of almost 4,000.

Any other ideas?? This is all new to me, even the Android phone. My Logos app works great on my iPad.

    Hey James,

One thing I would suggest is to try navigating around in the app a bit. Switch to a different resource, flip through several pages of a resource, etc. This should trigger a library catalog update which should add the rest of your books.

Still no notes created on desktop appear in Bible app. This has been the case in all previous beta versions downloaded since the feature was added many versions ago

    Thanks Drew,

Now have many of my books available.

However, some of the books are not in my Library on the computer, Russian, Spanish bibles, etc.. I looked in my Hidden folder and they are not there either. Any idea how one gets rid of them?

    Thanks again for everyone's help!!

Even before all my resources showed up in the App I had my notes, so I don't have an answer for your problem. In fact, I'm such a novice with Android I couldn't answer any problem. For an old man this looks like a very steep learning curve [8-)].
