Why does Logos Android App Need Location?
I was going to install the Logos App for Android and it told me that it needed permission to access the fine location data. I see no reason why a Bible program needs location data other than to target ads based on location, which is something in which I'm not interested. Is there another reason I don't see?

it is for the Proclaim signals functionality of the app

Correct. It's also probably worth noting that this functionality can be disabled in the settings for the Logos app (uncheck "Follow Presentations") and if you disable it, no location data will be used.

Thanks to both for the reply. One of the (many) downsides to Android is that it tells you what functionality an app requests, but not why. If it's not at first apparent, as this one wasn't, then I don't install the app. However I thought there might be a non-obvious reason in this case, and I was interested in the app, so this is one of the few I've followed up on.
