Logos maintains one account for each user, and you use these account credentials on all our apps and sites.

This is just advance notice that we will soon be getting rid of the forum-specific "User Profile" page and connecting directly to Faithlife.

Logos.com, Faithlife.com, and the forums all have profile pages, and they already share your photo, display name, personal "about" field, etc. This change will make it easier to see and manage all your public information in one place. (We will continue to maintain the Logos.com profile page -- https://www.logos.com/user/details -- but it will be focused on managing your order history, subscriptions, payment methods, etc.)

Question: What's on the forum profile page now that we should be sure to get over to the Faithlife profile page? We're planning to bring "My Activity" (your recent posts) over to a tab there, but think the "Comments" section can be left behind, since the Faithlife messaging feature does that job. Few people have "Shared Feeds" or "Announcements". Are "Shared Favorites" important to bring over, too?

(Note, I've intentionally shared more data with everyone than the system defaults. You have complete control over what you share at Faithlife; you can choose to share with no one, with just people who are co-members with you of moderated groups, or with everyone, as I have. This isn't like Facebook, which forces over-sharing!)

PS Look for reviews at Logos.com to link to public profiles soon, too.

What about signatures done on the forum?

We are currently limited to 256 characters and they permit links.
Will this be moved to the Faithlife profile?

It is convenient to see these link in each user's post.

I hope the page will not continue to proclaim Faithlife (nor related lniks) as this would be confusing.

Since we can turn on or off as much as we want I really don't care how much information is available to share.

At minimum I'd like to see a "useful links" section, as well as the standard email, website, name, birthday (with or without year).

A link to "My reviews" would be cool as well. (Not that I've submitted many yet [:$])

All said and done I like the idea of consolidating everything somewhere.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

    Hi Bob.

I have had your profile page at the top of my bookmarks pretty much since the inception of the forums. I want to thank you for all the great posts that have kept me sane during a time of increasing frustration with L4Mac and peripheral projects (IMHO [:)]). There is always a grace and depth to them that make them a real pleasure to read. Thank you.

I have just looked at the new faithlife page. There is an activity tab, but it does not seem to list activities in the forums. Is that as it should be? I know that the forum page is not accessible without logging on ... will the same be true of Faithlife?

Will there be a separate tab for Forum post activity? With the forums having a valued an specific purpose of relating to Logos and not theological debates etc. ...  I would value seeing those posts without 'activity' in other areas.

Will the activity section of the forum profile still exist? The Faithlife activity tab just looks like a mess ... partial conversations and replies out of context rather than a clear list with dates. Personally I do not want to reply out of context (why is this on the activity page?)... I simply want to read in context ... hence to see a list of topics that I can choose from.  If I want to be more involved then I will post in the relevant forum and even subscribe by email.

I presume that Faithlife is not replacing the Forums (just like Forums will never replace the news Groups ... OK ... you were right about that one too ... which is why I enjoy looking at your posts ... for the different perspectives on the use of technology).

I must admit that I am still struggling to see what Faithlife (and other social networking sites) are about ... I have dabbled and I am pleased that the emperor likes his new clothes! ... but the fashion does not seem to fit me yet ... maybe my mind is still stuck in my fashion horrors of the seventies [:|]). I have  page but cannot find anybody to talk to ... or think of what to say ... most folks that I know have just about made it to email ... and we prefer to meet together if possible.

Once again, many thanks for allowing us the opportunity to hear your vision and the opportunity for feedback like this. even though I have not actually answered your question about content to 'bring over'!

    Regards

    Martin.
