WIN 4.6 Beta 2 Extra Large Note Indicator in text...

I was just linking an article in New Bible Dictionary to a Note file. The triangle and Square Post it note indicators display rather large while all others display at expected size. I've have included a screen shot of all of the ones displaying normal just a couple to contrast against the exceptions.

I don't use notes much, but I note in your screenshots that with both of the large icons the heading text is highlighted. Is it a question of what exactly the note is applied to: to selected text or to a point between words?

I have seen extra-large Notes indicators several times. Closing Logos and re-launching fixed it. <shrug> I am curious to know what causes this behavior.

Hi Jonathon, In all four cases it is the heading text of the article highlighted, the selection hasn't changed; I simply went to the drop down and changed the note indicator to a different shape and the size of it changed as per my screen shots. No change was made to what was selected.

I saw this behavior for the first time back when they originally merged notes and highlights. It has happened a couple of times since (but not for a long time). As Andrew said restarting Logos has fixed the problem each time.

There was an issue with note indicator size being increased for users with a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display which should be fixed in 4.6 Beta 3.

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue in 4.6 Beta 4 making a note tied to the selection of 'Sadducees' and switching the indicator back and forth between shapes.
I think this is the spot you're at, correct? logosres:nbd;hw=Sadducees

At that spot I first selected the word 'Sadducees' (without any of the surrounding spaces/punctuation.) Then I right-clicked on the text, set the context menu to the 'Selection' tab and clicked 'Add note to...' Then, I clicked on the note indicator in the Note document (which was already open) and changed the icon from the square to the triangle.

Sorry to be pedantic about that, but I want to be sure that I'm doing exactly what you are doing. Your screenshots are telling, but screenshots are only so helpful to devs without also having repro steps. So being able to report what you are doing to Development as accurately as possible is important, especially if I can't reproduce it in house.

I doubt it would make a difference, but what do you have your default indicator shape/color/highlight style set to? If the default is set to the square or triangle, does it display at a larger size when the note is initially created? Is your program indexing?

No problem Tonya, Default note icon was the triangle. I am not sure if it was indexing at the time. I'll try and reproduce and get back to you.

Ok I have been able to re-produce, I tried a different article, but same resource and i tried it on both headword, and normal text and still got large icon display. I was not doing anything out of the ordinary , there was no indexing going on at the time. I've attached a log file from just after I created the second note.

Note: still on 4.6 beta 2. Have not yet upgraded to beta 4, will do later this weekend.

I would like the ability to make the Note indicator a little larger, especially when using a phone or tablet. Like John F Kennedy said "I'm for that".
