A number of commercial programs on my computer come with automatic downloads. Some are for advertising, some for virus/malware definition & removal programs, and others like Microsoft for security improvements. When my computer repeatedly locked up because of CPU overload and hard-drive thrashing I was forced to learn more than I wanted about controlling programs. Some were so invasive that I just removed them, others like MS Windows update I put on "Manual". I replaced a highly respected and very effective virus protection program because I couldn't control it from bringing everything else to a standstill. Others I control at the startup from the registry.
It would be of great service to all of us customers, if the Logos programmers would respect our needs with tools for setting times for downloads, allowing them to be disabled, or at least guaranteeing that the computer resources are not overloaded by competing programs.
