hiding/replacing library book

Greetings to all!

I would like to see some improvement to the UI when one hides or unhides a library book. This morning I wanted to "unhide" a book. Well, it looks like I ended up deleting it instead.

If one does a right click on a book which is in the "hidden resources" he will see a dialogue which reads unhide delete.

I thought I should try to highlight and click on the unhide side which I now see is impossible and I ended up deleting the book I wanted to place back into my available library books. After reading the help file I see I should have clicked the X box at the far right. Umm. I had supposed that was just a marker or a delete thigamajig.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with this?

I once was concerned with the same thing and IIRC a Logos employee told me that the "delete" just comes from the object they used and will not delete anything. As far as I know, you can't delete anything you bought from Logos - just restart and the resource should become available.

Thanks, but...

The book is no longer there so I have requested Logos to reset my licenses so I can get it back. Starting and restarting does not get it back, neither does update now.

This is true. You can't remove anything from your license from within the program.

Ergatees: The "download resources" command is something that can be overlooked. If you don't, or did not, see a small Logos 4 icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your monitor (near the time) or if in that same location you don't see it after clicking on the arrow that reveals hidden icons, please type update resources in your command bar and hit enter on your keyboard. This will force Logos 4 to check your library for updates and any missing resources. Once found it will automatically download them.

Try "update resources"--it is more thorough than "update now". I've had to use that in the past when restoring hidden resources. Be aware: it can be slow as it does a full compare of your resources with the server.

Update resources got my book back. Yes, it did take a little bit of time, but not too much, for the search to bring it all up, but it downloaded my book and added it to the library.

It is confusing but the difference in font style is intended to convey the meaning that the Delete key will Unhide a resource! If you select a resource you should see an X on the RHS. Select that and you will see "Unhide".
