Manual of Palestinian Aramaic Texts

The translations and introductions did not download yesterday. I only got the transcriptions (Aramaic text) included in A Manual of Palestinian Aramaic Texts. I'm guessing this book was broken down into different volumes, but the other volumes should have downloaded, too.

Anyone know what is going on?

Not to question a Logos employee's knowledge of the resource, but I'm surprised to hear that there might be a translation of these texts. I certainly wasn't expecting one.

Were you also not expecting a preface, introductions, a bibliography, and a glossary?

That's not fortunate for me. It's fortunate for those who have come to rely on interlinears. Now they'll need to actually read the text.

So's there no confusion; from the Logos.com page:

A Manual of Palestinian Aramaic Texts provides the text of these documents (often with emendations, and restorations, to the extent that these are possible), an interlinear translation of the text, a brief introduction, and a bibliography of secondary literature on each of the texts. A glossary of the texts completes the collection.

See how easy interpolations can be made? I bet I could write a nice manual on good interpolating techniques.

For those who have a memory like mine and don't remember what's in the Logos library, this is an example page from Prayer of Nabonidus 4Q242. Of course, there's the DSS Study Edition and Abegg's Sectarian Manuscripts. And monday's Palestinian Aramaic Texts, plus a nice addition from Targum Cognate Studies which includes a drawing of the fragments along with the aramiac and a french (readable!) translation. This weeks' addition is really great.

It seems I can locate the translation of this manual in so many updates I've received in the last days. What is the resource name? lls: what? I found only the text (lls:pbibeo34). Or my eyes are tired... Thanks, Martin.

In your library, 'title:palestinian' is almost guaranteed to bring up the two resources alone.

Open your library and type in "Manual" and "Aramaic."

Thank you, DMB. LOL, I was so tired and yes I could NOT locate it. Strange I wasn't able to found it. Don't know if it appeared after I've run an "update resources" command or after I sorted the resource folder by file names (was first checked by date modified). Thanks again, DMB!
