Buying features?

I have te Bible Study Library, and I have been considering moving up to the Scholar's library. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that I want to upgrade mainly in order to obtain some Hebrew resources and the language features offered by the Scholar's library.

Does anyone know if there is a way to purchase the language features? I figure just buying BHS and a few other Hebrew resources as well as the language features would be a lot more effective.

You may find that it is cheaper to buy the upgrade, rather than buy each resource separately.

Sounds like upgrading to the Original Languages Library would be a much better option for you. It's not an official upgrade path, so you won't be able to get an upgrade price from the website, but if you speak to a sales rep it should be possible. I know it's been done before. Ask for Santiago Galeano if the first guy says it's impossible.

Another option is the Minimal Crossgrade plus whatever Hebrew resources you need, but I'm not sure it includes all language features, and you'll probably end up paying more.

The problem with upgrading to the Original Languages package is that I forfeit my Bible Study library. I had a whole kerfuffel about this last year. I had both libraries for about 2 weeks, but then I lost my Bible Study library, which is more necessary for me out of the two. Eventually I got it switched back. Perhaps if I chose to buy the OL library I might get both, but if I could spend less for what I'd really like, the better.

Boiled down, I want a few of the features (Preposition diagrams, sentence diagramming, syntax search, etc) and BHS. I know I can get BHS for $50, I just want to see if it is possible to buy some of the features from OL/Scholar's library without plunking down all that cash in order to get 5x more than I need.

Anyone tried this before, or aware of if they can do this?

Then it wasn't an upgrade you were sold, but a switch from one package to another. You never lose anything with an upgrade (you never lose anything, period, unless you choose to return it).

It is, of course, possible that the policy has been changed since I last heard anything. But back then several people reported on the forums that they'd done such upgrades. And others reported having been told the option doesn't exist, which is why I told you to not necessarily take a no from some junior sales rep for an answer, but go up the food chain. Unless it was Santiago you spoke to last time, I suggest you give it another try and speak to him directly. If it is at all possible, he'll fix it for you. He's Director of Sales, he knows exactly what can and cannot be done. (And if it can't, he'll do his best to find other options for you.)

Does anyone know if there is a way to purchase the language features?

You may purchase them directly: look for the "Addin"s on Logos.com. They are inexpensive, compared to other Logos offers, and may give you what you need. The website will tell you that these are for L3 - while this was true (and they will work in Libronix, if you run Windows on another machine or in a virtual box), buying one of these Addins will activate the feature on L4.
