Stringing together Bible versions

My LDLS allows me to switch Bible versions (using the left or right arrow keys), but only a few.  It includes KJV, NKJV, NASB, NIV, NA27, ESV, ESV Eng.-Grk. Reverse Interlinear.  Yet, with Logos's Platinum package, I have a lot more versions to choose from.  If I open one of these other versions (say, the NET Bible or Holman's), that's fine until I try Left- or Right-Arrow keying over to another version.  It's back on track with the same basic versions mentioned above.  The other version I just opened is no longer viewable.  I have to open it again.

How do I incorporate these other Bible versions into my basic string of Bible versions and make it remain as part of the string?

Frank, welcome to the forums. Most of us here have not used Logos 3.0 in a long time, if at all. Logos 4 came out almost 3 years ago and so few of us still run Logos 3, so questions like this might wait a bit for answers.

The left and right arrows control parallel resources. My guess is that you need to add all your English Bibles to the same parallel resource set so Logos will know to link them together. Your newer Bible apparently aren't added to any existing set.

Do this: go to Tools:Library Management:Define Resource Associations and select the 'Parallel' radio button. If you see a 'Bibles' set that's the one you want to add your new Bibles to. Select Modify. If there is no such set, select New, name the group Bibles and select the Bibles you want to add to the group.

I also add my welcome Frank. As Mark said, most of us have not used Libronix in a while, and I do not have it installed, that is why I did not answer your post when I saw it.

I strongly urge you to cross over to Logos 4. Keep Libronix installed if you desire, but Logos offers limited support for it. Here are some training videos for Logos 4.

Thank both of you, Mark and Lynden, for responding.  Mark, your suggestion worked perfectly!  (A side note:  I really don't know how you can pastor anyone other than Logos users with over 4,000 responses to your credit!  I'm sure, however, that numerous Logos users are feeding on the greener pastures as a result of your service.  I will be.  Thanks!)

Actually, I do own Logos 4.0, but only got it for the books included in it.  I choose not to install it because I have a thing against any company uploading my personal data in exchange for my use of their program.  Logos uploads and holds all of our personal notes on their server.  That's similar to Apple, Google, Motorola or any other company's requirement to upload all of my personal contact data in order to use their OS or phone.  For example, I believe it's the iPhone that takes note of personal relationships within your data, such as the word "Dad" that they see among your contacts.   The digital age is wonderful, but...!  In a sinless world, it would be ideal.  As Google's CEO has expressed his goal--he wants all information in one place.  His place.  Couple that with America's economic slide and the resulting increased threat of international and domestic conflict, plus anti-Christian sentiment, it just doesn't bode well for many.

Admittedly, this is a long response to your suggestion to use Logos 4, but until they offer an "opt out" to upload personal notes, I'll opt out of using the new system or purchasing any new titles.  Thanks again, however.  I really do look forward even more to using Logos 3!

    Smart man.

I use Libronix because (a) the licenses stay on my PC (along with Logos) (b) I can (and do) backup my own highlights, notes, etc (c) I don't share my Bible studying with Logos and (d) it doesn't intrude on my studying with sticky molassas.

But I run both and it works out fine. I use Logos4 for research needs, mainly the languages and unusual searches. Don't have any personal stuff on Logos4 other than layouts and some favorites. But for everything else ... reading, commentaries, highlighting, notes ... it's Libronix.

And should Bob & Co take another turn for the worse on shared data etc, no problem. Have at it. Just not with me.

I understand, although I obviously don't feel the seriousness of the situation as you do.

Since Logos officially ended support of Libronix in March I think the day is coming when unless you have a legacy operating system and keep working copies of older versions of I.E. your investment in Logos will be useless. I currently cannot load Libronix on any of the new computers I have running Windows 7. I get an error message for which there is no remedy on the Logos support pages and there is no one to call anymore to get help. I have a computer with Libronix I keep going just to handle occasional questions like this and to use the old Topics Browser which I miss in Logos 4.

Those 4,000+ postings have accumulated over three years, and a lot of them aren't very long, so don't give me too much credit. Thanks just the same. Glad the problem is solved.

    Welcome [:D]

Logos 4 has an option to change "Use Internet" to No so nothing syncs (albeit items queue up so if Use Internet is turned on, then lots will sync).

One option for Logos 4 use is a master installation for downloading resource(s), which could periodically be copied for offline use using wiki steps => http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers  Notes, sentence diagrams, etc could be kept in Libronix 3, then imported into offline Logos 4 installation (and keep "Use Internet" set to No).

Personally Thankful for free eBooks on vyrso.com that can be used in Logos 4.

Thanks, everyone, for the several suggestions.  I may just take up your idea to install Logos 4, but retain my notes in Logos 3.  We'll see.

Let me say though, Mark, concerning your inability to load Libronix on new computers running Windows 7.  I'm currently running Windows 7, 64 bit, with Logos 3.0g.  Other than my inability to use the program as I would always like, it works great.  So, I don't think it's impossible for you to install Logos 3 on yours.  If you're seriously interested in installing Logos 3 on your Win7 machine, respond to one of my emails and I can walk you through it by email or (preferably) phone.  It's not like you need it, however.  But you've been a great blessing to me.  Thanks again!

Logos wIki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Importing_from_LDLS3 that includes information about preparing Libronix 3 notes for import into Logos 4.

Edit: another idea is voting for Logos User Voice suggestion about personal data sync:
