File layout reaorganization

I believe the file should be re organized. Currently when you go to file it lists all your files. I know we can search via any file type like visual filter, clippings, etc. But I believe there is a better way to organize it. The current method works good for a limited amount of files, but when you start to use logos for teaching or anything significant you really start to rack the files. Here is what I recommend: When you click file each file it is blank. When you click on clippings all my clippings files come up. When I click on visual filter all my visual filter files display. When I want to add a file of a given type right click and then add file(This is already implemented). What do you guys think.

    I wouldn't even mind sing it open in the layout part of the screen almost like a file system.  But I agree, definitely needs to be improved.

    Hi Robert,

    i am in agreement that L4 needs improvement in this area.

    =======================================================

    But for a work-around until then, if you are running under windows you can download & install an app that i wrote (http://bibl2.clark-tx.net/). One subtle feature in it will allow you to copy links to your Files into a Word docx file. Then you can build a PB for L4.

    This is my PB in L4

    A. These are my documents as found under Files in L4. i have them sorted alphabetically. i can quickly click in my TOC and get to my Notes or Passage Lists.

    B. i also copied and pasted my Notes & PL into organized topics as you can see in the TOC.

    i keep this PB on my Shortcut bar so that i can easily drag it anytime into L4 and then find my document(s). Having links to your documents does require me to keep the PB up to date. But i can use the tool to quickly copy/paste from the docx into my PB's docx.

    Here is a screenshot of the app (notice the button which allows you to add links to your documents)

    After clicking on the above button it opens the window below

    • In this window you can on the right select which documents you want to view in the grid.
    • Then when i click on Title it sorts them.
    • Then i simply click on the Build Docx button.
    • Then when the docx file opens, i copy the links and paste them into my PB's docx file.
