Sharing to Faithlife from Logos
I have just 'shared' a paragraph from chapter 15 MLJ's Ephesians vol 1.
It appeared as I hoped in faithlife BUT ...
- it was truncated with a 'more ...' link
- It was followed by a large grey box containing the first paragraph from a chapter 13 of MLJ (when he first starts to expound Eph 1:7)
I would have expected my highlighted text to be shared ... but why does it share text that was not highlighted? If i had wanted that text to be shared then I could have done so.
Is it possible to share from Logos to Faithlife without those grey boxes of additional material appearing?

That's normal if your text is larger than a certain number of characters. I think that's okay, otherwise large postings would clog up the screen in Faithlife.
2. It was followed by a large grey box containing the first paragraph from a chapter 13 of MLJ
many people like this box, since actually this citation from a resource is what you "share" plus you may comment it.
The issue is that currently the sharing (it may even depend on whether you do this from the desktop, the mobile app or from biblia.com) does not or not always take the highlighted text, but the beginning of the position in the file, i.e. headword in a lexicon, start of verse in a bible etc. I think, Community Notes may work somewhat similar (beware: when you scroll the resource, the position indicator may update).
Thus it looks like your resource has no differentiatior between the chapters - if all chapter 13 through 15 is coded as commentary to Eph 1:7 this explains it pretty well. If you shared from L4, you may try sharing from biblia and pasting the highlighted text into the pop-up window.

Thanks for the reply NB.
I cannot say that I understand it though [:$]
The first section is that which I had highlighted and shared via the context menu. It is what I wanted to share [:D]
The grey box is not what I have chosen to share ... it seems to be added by Logos unbidden. Yes it from the same resource but why i it there? It is not what I chose to share? Whilst not controversial, I choose my quote for a purpose ... but not the text in the grey box [^o)]
The text in the grey box does not represent what I wanted to express or represent my opinions. On the contrary, it is highlighted to such an extent that it draws the eye away from my chosen text.
How would an observer discern which text I am alluding to and why text was put there by the system? [8-)]
How can I stop this from happening?

I can only take your word for this ... but why? What does it add to the information ... it is effectively a random passage from somewhere in the same resource ... so how does that help? why is it liked?
Why have Logos even included it?

Good. I don't have your resource but I tried to emulate the same by sharing selected text from the FSB with Faithlife Beta group. Looks much the same.

The text in the box is the beginning of the passage your text is linked to. In your case it seems to be the beginning of Lloyd-Jones lengthy deliberations on Eph 1:7, not a random passage.

The text put by the system is in the box?
