High resolution maps for large signs?

I have several maps resources as part of my logos package, but I'm looking to make a very large print (6 feet across) of a life of Christ map, and all the images are not high enough resolution for that size print.
Does anyone have any place they go for high resolution, printable Biblical maps? Or is there a way to get high res images out of logos?
Thank you!

Sounds ambitious. There is no way to get higher resolutions out of Logos than are put in there.
You might check with Rose publishing who puts out plenty of charts and maps to see if they have one.
Otherwise, talk to an artist in your church or community and show them the map you like, see if they can recreate the essence of it for you.

An image file that could do that well would be hundreds of MB's.

Depends how much detail you want. If the map is only going to be viewed from a distance (like from a stage), then you can upscale a smaller picture and print it out, and it would look fine.

The best I know of is: http://biblemapper.com/
It survives zoom-in pretty nicely and then tracks from Spain to east of Persia. He has a free version and then a more customizable one. Two features I like: (1) he gets the lat/longs on the literal archeaological digs (vs 'somewhere around here') and (2) you can layer the maps by time (select which period).
To check his work I also keep the 1948 Israel topo series (in Russian; Berkeley).
The reason I like 'mapping' is that there's a reality to 'living' that texts don't quite demonstrate.
Going 'up to Jerusalem' doesn't quite speak to where the springs are that are absolutely necessary for animals and humans alike. And when you're on foot, no one likes hills. Quite often I have to surmise why Jesus went through Samaria, since it's considerably easier to run down the valley (springs/river), and then up.

This program is not cheap ($200 U.S.) but if a person uses it a lot it will pay off in the long run. I guess that it just depends on whether or not you will use it regularly. I would highly suggest to use the trial version first, just to see if it can do what you are hoping for.

Let me take back what I said. A VECTOR file could be small. A JPEG, BMP, TIFF, etc. would look HORRIBLE blown up to 6 feet. It would NOT look "fine."

There is interpolation software that maximizes sharpness. Perfect Resize Pro (formerly Genuine Fractals) is an industry standard tool that is used for creating event signs and even billboards. They claim that a 6 foot wide photo-quality print (300 dpi) can be made from a 22MB file, and an event-sign quality print (100dpi) can be made from a 6 megapixel file. See their interactive chart in the middle of this page:
http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/perfect-resize/
Now that is to say, none of the images in Logos are even 6 megapixels. But one could buy an image at that resolution form other sources.

Todd - I am familiar with on-one and genuine fractals, although I have not used it. What size files does it create?

That depends on the DPI
For 100 dpi: (72 in wide x 100 dots per inch) x (54 inches tall x 100 dots per inch) x 4 bytes per pixel = 155 MB(We don't even want to think about 300 dpi)
Both the DPI and the color depth could be further reduced to make a smaller file size, since we aren't talking about a photograph.
But I think we were talking past each other. I thought you were saying the source image needed to be huge. Whereas I was saying a smaller source could be used to create a larger print image.
