Eusebius closing Friday -- only two days to get the price down

Someone just went and put Eusebius of Caesarea Collection (6 vols.) over the top a few hours too early, and now we only have two days to get the price down. To me $36 is too much for a 6 vol CP. If we'd had a week we should have been able to get it to $20, but now it seems doubtful if it can go below $28. But let's give it a try!

Definitely not! By getting people to add or raise their bids to the current price. Or at least to the one below that. Or at the very least to something. (A bid at $24 won't help at all right now, and the bidder would likely lose out, but if that's all someone is willing to pay it's better than no bid at all, and if the price were to get down to $28 by tomorrow such a bid might help to get it down to $24 by Friday.)

More concretely: help bump this thread to the top 2-3 times a day if needed, and spread the word on Twitter and Facebook if you use those.

Actually, I just see that we'll almost certainly be down to $28 by tomorrow, or more likely later today. Maybe there is a chance of $24 or $20 after all.

$24 is quite doable. If you have an interest in the Church Fathers, then this is the time to bid.

I happen to be quoting Eusebius in Bible study tonight in a study of Revelation chapter 18, about the Christian Jews in Jerusalem fleeing Rome to Pela at the fall of Jerusalem. I love the Church Fathers.

In my humble library (around 600 resources) as you can see, references to Eusebius in the footnotes alone are in the thousands (see below). Why not check yours to see how important this addition will mean to your library and then go and bid if you haven't done so

your post really got me looking up the CP page and bidding for it (I may still reconsider), however: since this collection is not a "Eusebius Lifeworks" set, your reasoning is somewhat wrong. I'd assume that at least 90 per cent of the hits you got are to his Church History, which is not part of the CP but of Schaff's "Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers"

You're right. That prompted me to do another search, (this time for the book titles) in the footnotes and I got just 87 hits in 71 articles in 15 resources (still good).

Then I did one more search in all text this time and I got 146 hits:

I bet you have Works of Flavius Josephus: Critical Apparatus. I have 789 hits in it, but I bet most of them are spurious.

Wherever Eusebius is mentioned there is a pop-up that mentions several of his works, but they aren't direct references. The exact same pop-up text is used for every occurrence:
