Faithlife UI - bugs and recommendations

I'm glad that the many empty input boxes (post to, reply) give an indication what they are meant for - on Chrome, that is. The light-grey text is not present on IE 8 or 9, which makes this page much less than self-explanatory.

Hopefully this can be fixed.

The topmost box (marked blue above) has no text in Chrome either - I'd like it to read something like "Search for Users or Groups", since more than once people ask about where to find these in Faithlife.

There is a piece of unused screen real estate, where I put the red box. There something related to groups could be presented. My recommendation would be a drop down box of "most active open groups" i.e. showing these with the most postings (count News or Community Notes as you may) in the last XX days.

The reason for my recommendation is that I feel that some potential users look at faithlife and have the impression it's dead. This is untrue, but people won't see it's alive unless you show it to them - actually push this info into their face rather than wait till they find out how to pull it (actually there's no way to do so right now).

But maybe this spaced is saved for all the buttons we'll get soon to configure group search, including "filter" and "sort most active" and "sort by member count"? I'd like to see these, but this again is only pull, not push. We could have even more space if the New Group button was moved to the left bar below the "more groups" indicator. This may reduce the visible list by one - so what.

Just some ideas...

Have joy in the Lord! Smile
