Interactive Upgrader

Check out the new interactive upgrader @ http://www.logos.com/upgrade

It's cool in that it highlights box differences for you now.

HOWEVER: It doesn't go far enough. I still think it needs to read my license file and compare books I've bought outside of my current packages level to display the upgrade.

I know the calculation does take into effect all my extra purchases, but it needs to show my extra purchases as well by stripping the highlighting of them out of the upgrade display.

I'm in a similar boat. I have the Platinum edition, but I figure that the titles from the Portfolio edition that I really want are cheaper for me to buy individually since I already own a number of the products in the Portfolio edition that are not being factored into the proposed cost of my upgrade, and others I don't care for anyway!

It is a GREAT new feature on the upgrade page. I would also like for it to read my licenses. I've been a bit of a Pre-pub hoarder over the past couple of years, (LOVE those counseling resources!) and would like for it to identify those things.

(And would realllly like for it to automatically take those purchases into account for the up-grade price-[although I do realize that w/o it I'd still get a great deal, but I'm quickly approaching "critical mass" with funds])

I "desperatly" want to up-grade to silver or gold! (currently have Leaders Library: with almost $1,000 worth of extras (pre-pubs mostly) over the past 3 years, not counting a couple of "auction site" purchases)

I'm getting grey and no yellow too. But the un-grey stuff is the same as what the yellow would be.

BTW, I notice at the top of the page, in "Recommended Add-ons" I'm being offered the Horae Homileticae, which is already included in the Platinum version. This should be removed.

Ditto, only I have Gold plus lots of other individual titles that I bought since then (Platinum didn't exist yet, and besides even if it did it wouldn't have had all the stuff I wanted and it would still have been cheaper to get what I wanted individually than upgrade to the next level).

And yes, it's seriously deficient that it doesn't take into account the titles you've already bought outside of your base package, which for me is significant. I've spent a total of $2873 (in bits and snatches -- a couple of those were pretty big "snatches"!) since upgrading from Scholar's to Gold.

Yeah, the way the yellow stuff works -- or doesn't work -- is doubly frustrating. Not only do I apparently get no credit for those non-package volumes I already own, but it artificially makes upgrades look like I'm getting a huge number of great resources with the upgrade. In reality, however, almost all of the great yellow ones I already do own. No doubt there are lots of other new resources I would get by moving from my current Original Languages to even the basic Scholars Library, but these are just about all public domain or non-academic materials.

Yeah, I have to admit, most of the yellow ones aren't things I would have wanted to have anyway, and they will immediately go in Hidden Resources if I upgrade. But that very fact makes me hesitant to upgrade because it seems like it would be a big waste of money.

You have to click the icon of the package you wish to compare, then it highlights those books.

I whole-heartedly agree, that it does not go far enough. I have had the Original Languages bundle for many years. This spring I added the Bible Study collection. At the top of the upgrade page, the Bible Study and Original Languages copy are greyed out. But the included books, that are part of the OL bundle, are not credited in the listing below. That leaves the question as to what the upgrade price actually includes.

I like the new up-grader, but it doesn't appear to recognise all the books I own, such as 'The Love of God' volumes or certain resources that I have purchased individually on pre-pub or as existing resources, such as 'The Good News Translation'. So what base is it actually working from and where does it think it getting to?

It says that Text Comparison (Parallel Bible Versions Addin) is not a part of my Bible Study Library? Why? I was able to compare verses from different versions side-by-side in version 3 of Logos. Why not version 4?

You can still compare verses side by side from any translation you own. The Text Comparison adds visual effects to that ability. (Highlights differences, graphs, etc.)
